I have done some "neat" stuff on my own. However it all depends on what you consider "neat". Do I do space visualization? No. You would need math for that silly;)
But everyday real world projects I have been able to do no problem.
I know personally I am a JAVA programmer...JDBC, GUI, logic...and I SUCK at math. I never understood why everyone always told me I "you need math if you are going to program".
Well I am here to tell them "No you don't!"
My career is doing quite well and I have been able to program anything that has been put in front of me.
Come on now people. This is obviously bogus. Apple would be sitting on 5 million plus (low estimate) tablets when the technology changes in 6-12 months. No way they are ordering 10 million.
In case you missed it, XP is a great OS. There is really no way around that. I understand many people have a hard time admitting that but it is true.
Also, the reason it will continue to go strong is because businesses will not be switching to 7 any time soon. That is not a slap at 7 either. We tested 7 here in the office. The verdict: 7 is a a great OS that gave us no problems but there was no reason to change. Why would we? XP "just works". Period.
Can anyone really deny this was the decade of Microsoft?
Personal
XP released in 2001, is still going strong and will be for quite some time.
7 released in 2009, is going strong and has received great reviews.
Professional
Server 2003 released in 2003, is still going strong and will be for quite some time.
Server 2008 released in 2008, is going strong and has received great reviews.
There was the Vista speed bump but overall this was without a doubt a Microsoft decade.
You missed the point. My point is that slashDot did not need to post the stolen data directly. As I stated below, they could have just said something about the data being posted to website X and people could go find it.
However, humoring you...by your logic you would have no problem with me coming into your home and watching your TV right? That is rather trivial example. So let's say I broke into (hacked) your home and photo copied your entire life's worth of documents and posted them online. No problem with that right?
PS
It EVERY case (yours, mine and theirs) it is depriving people of privacy.
Probably.
They could have easily added a comment about the data being posted to website X and people, if they choose, could have gone and found it. As opposed to posting the data directly.
I would just like to point out that it is COMPLETELY inappropriate for slashDot to post a link to what is, according to the story, STOLEN DATA. Yes, I know it is out on the internet so anyone could find it.
But seriously slashDot it seems highly inappropriate for you to give people easy access to stolen data.
Ahh yes. But when you hear 1 thing you dismiss it. When you hear 2 things, you dismiss it. Unfortunately it is much more than that. I am just following the iPeoples lead. Just acting how they do towards Microsoft. They hate when people act like them. But that if off topic.
Want me to pull all the other articles not related to patents showing Apple being underhanded? That is rhetorical because I am going home and I am done with this. However, there are MANY articles that could be posted.
Not to keep this going all day but...my observation was quite simple.
1. This is like the 4th or 5th Apple patent infringement story lately. Which is true.
2. This is just another example that Apple is not the benevolent company that all the iPeople make it out to be. Which is true.
If you think that the fact that lawsuits are coming out from a bleeding Nokia makes them false then maybe you should go back to school and learn something.
Recently I went into Verizon for a new phone. I told the guy I was interested in a "smart phone" but was not interested in paying for the "data plan". He explained that "if I bought any of their 'smart phones' I would automatically be charged the extra $30/month" for the 'data plan'. I explained to the guy that I did not need the data plan, particularly seeing how the phone I wanted had wireless. Along with many features that would have ZERO effect on Verizon's network. My argument went nowhere fast.
How does this article tie into my experience? Simple, all cell phone providers are SCAM ARTISTS!
No, it's enhance. But thanks for asking ;)
Embrace
Extend
Enhance
I should also mention that I am in insurance. (We can debate whether I am evil or not later)
Because of this I do have to use ALLOT of math. I am not math free. However nothing beyond the norm.
Business.

Well, I can't deny Google rocked the decade as well.

I think the story (and the Palin one) is news worthy but not giving people easy access to the data.

Does everything I want it to do.
All these stupid animal names that people are adopting.
Karmic Koala? Are you serious?

Nice arguing you though. Have a good weekend!

See how that works?
....the 4th or 5th story lately of Apple infringing patents?
Yup, they seem like quite an upstanding and benevolent company.

It is a GREAT product!
The only ones bashing it are competitors. That is when you KNOW it is good.
