The fact is, no matter how calculated a risk is... some people have more information at hand when doing the "calculations." Therein lies the profit making opportunity for the other trader, on the back of this first guy.

And you never know, maybe the 'other trader' found an even more Efficient Market Hypothesis.
Is 'open source' killing commercial products? Are they killing each other? Or is this a messy transitional period which will give rise to a user-driven business model?
There are an enormous number of proprietary products which have ceased to exist as 'commercial' products and have flourished as open source technologies with a support component.
It is not that either are 'killing' the other, but rather, there is a demand for a mixture of both which is emerging as the preferred model by the market.
