I don't see why the test includes third party software. Because nobody managed to crack it with it just sitting on the network all day, and only the Mac got cracked doing web browsing/email.
It comes with $20,000, $10,000, or $5,000, depending on what day you hacked it. The guy who cracked the Mac got $10,000 and the Vista machine came with $5,000 since it was cracked later. And you can always install *nix.
then I would love this thing enough to actually kill for it (not kidding or exaggerating in any way) So you're the one that has been killing the kittens!
Or make whatever improvements might be necessary to have these features be plugins rather than part of the browser itself. Honestly, I think they need to make everything into a plugin (tabbed browsing, spell check, etc. and just include the most popular in the default install.
OK, in all seriousness: I never hear any news about Brittney (for that I am grateful). Avoidance is quite simple. Don't have cable/rabbit ear antennas, read only/. for news (newspapers can be acceptable sometimes), and only hang out with other/.ers or people that don't care about what she is up to.
but then you'd also want to get more accurate information and not just base findings off of a phone survey, which to me is just crap info. Good point. I don't think/.ers would be very likely to take a phone survey, and we are less likely to have a favorable opinion of MS.
What the heck is this a measure of? It is a measure of "brand power". Basically:
1. How recognizable a brand is (e.g. more people know what Google is than AltaVista)
2. "overall reputation, perception of management and investment potential" (Do people like/trust them?)
I bet it was No-one's sibling Not-me or He-did-it that broke the vase and framed No-one.
No-one uses Linux, and No-one is perfect. So we should try to follow in No-one's footsteps.

You haven't been reading the comments. I haven't seen anyone mention it in a good way yet (or neutral, for that matter).
This is where Google comes in handy.

FF is shooting itself in the foot with this one. Just stick to getting those standards implemented while staying as small and responsive as possible.
Ditto. Integration with the OS is the last thing I want. That's exactly what gets IE into so much trouble.
I find RSS too slow. I check /. more often than the RSS is updated.
Who?

He didn't.
No, you do not want know what he really said.

I, for one, welcome back our (5.25") floppy overlords!
What is their definition of a "popular application"? WINE (obviously) is much more popular on Ubuntu than Vista.
It's Twitter imitating Macthorpe.
You can always install Ubuntu on it.
Then they would blame 3rd party attackers.
Out of curiosity, how long does it take you to charge it manually? What about AC?
