I love how you think it was coined because of thumb drives. Just because it didn't originate with flash drives that doesn't mean that they are not part of the current definition.
So they are diffrent... As long as Gimp, the exported image, and the print all look alike, I don't see how this is a problem. If it doesn't look how the designer wants it, it can be tweaked. I do not expect a designer would be completely satisfied with either default, so he/she would be tweaking it anyways.
The official release has worked great for everyone I know. Well, it hasn't worked great for me. More like it left me wondering "What was it supposed to do again?".
it's not that hard to get a copy of Photoshop, and Elements is cheap Heh, if one is going to pirate software, it's best to pirate the superior program.
Please, give a better argument than "OSS rulz!". There are perfectly good non-FOSS software out there that won't require you to give up your copyrights (CS3 is probably the best, but it's not the only one) And in this case, you only use your copyright if you make it available on their public galleries. If you are going to promote FOSS, please argue on its more unique merits (I understand that OOo is better for writing books than MS Office)
Why? As far as Photoshop in concerned, you already lacked incentive to stay with Windows: It's on Mac (and is now purported to be very well supported in WINE). As for not switching to Linux...
Photoshop Express will be completely Web-based so consumers can use it with any type of computer, operating system and browser.
What good is recording without playback? None whatsoever. But it is hard to play something back until you have figured out how to record. He just hadn't figured out that step yet.
I dropped mine into a bucket of paint. No wasting time applying paint to each individual surface. Although now that the paint has dried, I still need to cut the bucket away.
I think all he proved is that a random cube can be solved in 25 moves, but those moves are unique to every starting combo.
In other words, they are left as an exercise to the reader.
Most home users I know are using OpenOffice and saving ODF at home. Lucky you. My family would be very unhappy if saving to.doc wasn't automatic. Nevermind that OOo is free, we had a *ahem* "borrowed" copy of Office XP. It's just too much of a hassle for them to remember to "Save As" when they are going to use a document somewhere else.
Foxit is 2.14 MB. Not open source and it is a pain to download directly from their website (download.com is better), but it proves that Adobe Reader really is bloated far beyond reason.

Chances of prosecution go from infinitesimally small to nil. And those here with a conscience can set their minds at ease.
Not really. Edison was able to play his recordings, which this Frenchman apparently wasn't able to do.
They hit their better-educated brother in the (non-combat) plane?
The average user hasn't got a clue that they're losing privacy.

Take your pick.

The articles update says that Safari has 100% and Safari has 98%.
Can you spot the problem?
That's exactly what I did. I am lamenting that they do not use ODF even internally.
Or the pie-in-the-sky dream that MS adopts ODF...
I thought it was 3000 pages...
Well that is still 2500 pages more than we need, at any rate.
You didn't post as AC this time...
