So what if they engineer seeds to produce plants that don't produce fertile seeds.
Think nuggage.....extensive care is already being taken to make sure that one of america's favorite crops contains no seeds. Keeps the crop price up there by rarefying seed stock....
So what do you do when you don't have seeds in your crop, but you want to grow more plants? If you can get a hold of reasonable seeds at reasonable rates (nothing wrong with capitalism) then buy them....if not CLONE! They may own the patents but they don't own the plants.
