He said "most optimal". I dont think any currency currently in use hits "most optimal", they just come a lot closer than the rollercoaster that is Bitcoin.
Because these people are in the news, missing limbs, and if you are able to watch a news report about some tragedy where 20 or so people are maimed or killed without feeling anything, it just means that you've succeeded in killing off a part of what makes you human.
I feel outrage against a lot of things. But right now, to try to take advantage of a tragedy for political gain even as people are trying to figure out whether their loved ones are alright, is seriously messed up. Personally, Ive gone away from stupid fiat currencies like the US Dollar and have invested in solid Azerothian Gold and Truesilver. Nothing says "stability" like a REAL currency that is used every day by millions of people!
Most news organizations have their share of issues, but Slashdot takes it to a new level. You will never see Fox having a headline that says "Meteor to crash into Earth in 2 days", and then a story which literally says the opposite.
That sort of thing happens on slashdot all the time, and often the story contradicts even the summary.
The entire game looks pretty basic - and who the heck cares? Watch a two year old and see what happens when you give em a present.
Polish can be incredibly important. If first impressions are bad, the student may not get hooked, which defeats the entire point of packaging the thing like a game.
Spoofed TCP packets are every bit as big as a problem. What do you suppose happens when you send a spoofed TCP Syn packet to google? Might make it pretty difficult to trace where that packet originated, no?
I find it particularly amusing that people would moan about Fox's factual problems in a post on SLASHDOT of all places. Yea, slashdot really does set that bar high.
Dont forget WoW Gold. Accepted by millions worldwide! AND, its a precious metal, supply naturally constrained by how fast dwarves can dig it up!

So why these people?

True, but gone are the days when everybody rushed out to get the latest and greatest as soon as it was released.
Whens the last time you ever heard anyone say "You HAVE to try the new Windows"?
Microsoft has NEVER been cool, and I dont know that many people have cared enough about their computer to care what version MS released.

Any posts which use the words "Americuh" or "furriner" (or variants thereof) are flamebait.

Way to keep those standards high.
I wasnt aware that WoW Gold was a publicly traded commodity, that just further reinforces its validity.
