We do a linux install fest, Little johnny brings his pc home to show mom and dad, the computer spews profanity, and Linux along with the Linux user group get's a bad rap from one idiot programmer's idea of something that is funny to him (maybe to a 3 year old it's funny)
it has more potential to damage than entertain, and it's there for purely sophmoric reasons. It was a really stupid move on red-hat to include a program that they didn't inspect first. and it was super stupid of the Xboing's programmer to put profanity in there to begin with WITHOUT a notification in the readme/opening screen.
I'm now wondering if VI is going to start playing an mpeg porno on screen if I type nipples.
This is a very typical tactic.. Currently the IT and IS field is flooded with "junk" employees. (All of you know what I mean!) and the employer having just went through 3 MCSE people for the IS department and fired them or let them go because they were worthless will be a bit gun shy.
Michigan generally get's you $35K to $50K but then the cost of living is dirt cheap compared to california.. A $150K home is in some areas here are beautiful and huge homes. while the same price range in the valley get's you a shed with no door.

My MP3 player (a linux box stuffed in a cd-player case with a lcd display and I.R. remote control interface) that has a network card so I can upload my own personal music to it so I can listen to it (Upload via FTP) would be a violation?? By their definitions this would be the case! I think those students need to hire lawyers and sue the hell out of the university for invasion of privacy, hacking their computer, and punishment for no reason.(YES no reason at all!) Let's see those hacking laws applied evenly or let's throw them out! (HA!)

I have a qualicomm phone. and if the best they can get on digital voice is the same quality as a crappily encoded mp3 (lots and lots of digital artifacts in the audio) and between 2 - 5 seconds of lag (I talk 3-5 seconds of nothing then you talk) I'm sorry but qualicomms "flagship" digital phone sucks to begin with, why dont they make the thing work right before they do something else.....
