Interesting. They raid from all the areas that need money to help people in order to help people. Affects on People:
No Health Care - Stressed over the bills.
No Welfare - Stressed and afraid of the bills.
No Economic Development - No jobs.
Overall effect = violence and troubled youths

The article has some good pointers. But what if you not the one who wrote the code (Developer hired to finish another developers work)? What can I do to minimize the nightmare of work required to deal with tightly coupled, non documented, and hard to read code? It would be nice if there was an article that could help with that.
Parents can only do so much though. For example how do you control the peers at school? Sure the parents can home school the kid but what if they are not able to do that? Then the kid is left at the mercy of the crack heads, bullies, etc. The parent can only hope the kid gets the right influence at school. And what about a kid that does not have parents? What then?
You got a point there. Violent people do play violent games. For example in Columbine the students played Doom. My question for everyone though is what was it that made them violent to begin with?
I agree with you. I am tired of hearing people bash on games and saying that they are, and I quote from the article a "health hazard" because they think games are the ONLY cause for violence in America. You want to know what causes violence in America? You America! (Bleep) You! Wonder why Columbine happened? Because their peers made fun of them constantly, they were in an area of low economic opportunity, and their teachers said they were failures. They were backed into a corner with only vengeance as a way out. Sure they played Doom big deal millions of people play violent games and you don't see world wide chaos. Violence is caused by a number of factors which all should be considered before bashing on games.
Now that I have vented out I am going to learn how to create a mod in Half-Life 2 where I can legally ice Jack Thompson's dumb ass.
