Riiight. A 200KB library will not take up less memory when used than a 10MB library.
Anyway, it's obvious that in any case it depends on the usage, but if you link to a large library, the memory footprint will be large by default. If you link to a small library, the memory footprint will be smaller, at least to begin with.
I can't believe nobody mentioned Zelazny (at least in the 5mods), which is all I read on this sites' comments.. heh
The guy didn't win multiple nebula and hugo awards for nothing. He has some of the most original and interesting ideas that I've read and my god can the guy suck you in quickly.
So for his sci-fi stuff read "The isle of the dead", "To die in Italbar", "Damnation alley" -- also a movie made in the 70's. His Amber series is pretty famous and extremely excellent in my opinion, it's kind of a blend of sci-fi & fantasy, a bit heavier on the fantasy.
And what about when you click on that innocent little HOWTO.txt link for a problem that's been bugging you. Whether it's on slashdot.org, msn.com, or goatsex.com, they can all support links by anonymous (or registered) users. I've done this very thing quite often myself. Not to mention a wiki, or any other form of free-posting service of any sort on the web.
It all goes down to the level of trust you put in a site, it's users, and/or each specific link you click on. Do you want to have to worry about it?
The process goes:
1) Think
2) Type
3) Think some more
4) Preview/Proofread
5) Submit
etc..

Oops, correct links:

http://enlightenment.org/pages/cvsnotes.html
mea culpa.
I know it's a concept that's hard to grasp, but actually looking at something and TRYING IT OUT before you critique it is usually a good idea.
For those interested:

Try out some of the cool apps people have started working on like:
Go to the main enlightenment.org page and CVS for lots more...
I run it on my Athlon64 3200+ and my P4 laptop. I also use the EFL and all the other E goodies.
Anyone notice that Ximian and SCO share the same PR Company? I know it would probably make me feel dirty.

Anyway, if you like Gibson you'll love Zelazny.
I believe he was confusing (unintentionally) the FHS with the LSB. The LSB does deal with the package standard, the FHS does not.
FHS = Filesystem Hierarchy Standard
It seems quite plain to me what that means...
