  2. Fascinating on HIV Transmission Captured On Video · · Score: 1

I always found biology quite fascinating. All those little buggers that can kill a human just by sheer numbers. Always scared me a little.

  3. Gas Prices are HIGH? on Efficiency? Think Racing Cars, Not Hybrids · · Score: 2, Insightful

Come live in Europe. Americans pay on average $4 for a gallon of gas. That comes to about 2.5. In Europe we pay 6 for the same amount. No wonder you're all driving SUV's. At least in the states you can afford it.

Well, funny you speak that way, because I'm 6'8" and I drive a Japanese Suzuki WagonR+. Fits me perfectly (read: doesn't hurt my back after 3 hours of driving), with about 4-5 inches of headroom, doesn't burn a lot of fuel, and I can watch over most cars too. But hey, if you want to look over an SUV, buy a helicopter :)

  6. The Blue Gene solution? on What Web 2.0 Means for Hardware and the Datacenter · · Score: 1

They cool their servers from the bottom to the top. Also sideways, so kinda diagonally, but they're getting excellent results. Sounds like an efficiÃnt idea to me. http://www.ibm.com/systems/deepcomputing/bluegene/ And why don't they use Western Digital GreenPower drives? They have an enterprise version of those don't they?

I'm new at Slashdot (just pointing it out so don't shoot me). I've been a fan of music all of my life. Sometimes it's just obligatory to own a lost track from some obscure dance album and all you find is some lousy MP3 that's chewed up and spat back out. But then again, you've got the track what's to complain about? Sure, it could've been better quality, but you still have it and that's the point. If I rip my own cds I use lame with -V2 because I like the quality, it sounds better do me than -V4, but sometimes you're just happy to hear the song, even if it's on the radio. And what shitty quality is that? (no DAB)
