It's a pretty good email system not perfect but it has worked fine for us. As a groupware system it has calendaring, Global Address book (Everyone in the system can be found just by typing the first few letters of their names) and conferencing.

The Administration for the system is not hard. Easy enough to do that we have delegated most of the administration the less technichal people of our organization. THe user rights controls are also pretty extensive.

One other thing of interest is if I send a message to every user on the system only one copy of the message will exist unless the user makes a copy of the message.

Backup with system allows us to restore on or more mailbox if we choose to.

As for clients it has support on Mac OS, Mac OS X, Windows, and includes a telnet interface and Web interface.

Please review the Second Amendment. It states:
A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.
This means that the reason we have the right to bear arms is to allow us to properly defend our state. Whether it is our home state or our nation. If you could find a valid reason to use a nuclear bomb in protection of either you state or the nation without impinging on the rights of others, then you would have valid reason to bear that form of arm.

I just recieved my Handspring Visor Deluxe. and just love it. I especially like the ability to read the doc's on it. I now have the entire Bastard Operator from Hell Series on Readable at any time. My only question is the cradle included with it is USB. I know linux now has usb support and that their is Palm Pilot software but does anyone know if it works with the Visor on the USB cradle. I do know about the Serial Cradle I would just like to use it with USB cradle.

As can be seen from the previous comments schools commonly do not have the top of the line equipment, so for the use of linux I am relegated to using some old workgroup servers and currently LinuxPPC does not run on them nor does NetBSD. If I had the chance I would be running LinuxPPC.
I must say when I originally begin looking for a linux for Mac I was rather busy and did not have time to look very far. I thank you for the information on the other distributions.

I'm Probably going to get people mad at me for this but.

People need to remember that computers are tools. Operating systems are also tools. The choosing of an operating system is based on the requirements that the operating system needs to meet. Windows NT and 2000 do a good job of Workstation Serving. That is serving workstations by providing Authentication, Networked Printer spooling and file serving. While Linux and Un*x do make good back end processing servers. So when a company is choosing a server type to go with they will choose the one that bes fits their needs. While NT and 2000 may not be as stable as Linux it is easier to configure and administer, because Microsoft has done serious work on the UI of their apps. If company needs a stable and fault tolerant system they are more likely to choose Linux or Un*x.

Thanks for listening to my Diatribe.

Especially when that majority is attempting to use this software to block sites that go contrary to religous or personal beliefs. also in using filtering we allow software to take the place of a parent. So lets just let the century end in 2000,
