..is how for the whole life of the Millennium show I managed to hear nothing about it. NO buzz, no fuss, nothing. Well maybe I did not pay atention. I accidentally discovered it in the current re-run on FX: this is order of magnitude better show than anything else on TV. I made me accept American Television, which I hated, and watched only sparely, for language comprehention practice. Rerun is in the middle of the second season now and so far I like it. I really hope they make good miniseries...
Yeah, and did you notice that msvcrt.dll changed in between VC 6.0 and VC 6.0 SP2? That was to fix bugs. On my machine, installing VC 6.0 broke at least 2 non-MS applications. Go take a look at bug reports. Man, I had to take care of a dozen NT boxes loaded with development tools. I know more about ways to destroy this systems by a wrong sequence in applying patches, fixes and errata than I ever wanted. Our Linux boxes are order of magnitude easier to maintain. And I am no UNIX fan. I like goog GUI and IDE's. It just a fact that UNIX style is much more stable for development use. Original poster insisted that MS enviroment is stable. I think he is full of shit.
If your primary interests are mathematics or theory, you still cannot beat Moscow State University
Not for the grad school. It is nonexistent - in the way Americans expect it. I have got my diploma from the Physics department there. It is a good equivalent of MS degree here. In the grad school you just write your thesis and hardly get any additional education except for your narrow field. I would claim it is impossible after american style college. Moscow State is the best place to get your undergraduate in Physics or Math. You actually learn something...
not subject to tens of new kernel updates which severly effect the stability of the system
Absolute bullshit. Every Service Pack, every HotFix we had to apply, was breaking something.
I just did a plain istallation of NT. I consequently applied SP4, IE 4, VStudio 6.0, SP2 for VStudio 6.0, then SP5, then IE5.0, then Office 2000, then SP5 again. If I do it in any other order - it dies and BS on reboot. This system is a piece of crap.
You are full of shit, do not know what you are talking about, and probably only use computer to write PP presentations. Clueless idiot. Go back to your hole.
Doubt it. People are really stuck with Windows - documents, Excel tables, many many applications.. Upgrading is so much easier then moving to a complete new system... That's the whole point of MS monopoly..
.. once service packs for 4.0 stop appearing - for every new security hole MS will have one answer - "Upgrade to 2000"... Same goes for a lot of popular applications - that were forced into 2000 compliance..
That's true. And I do not write assembly either. But I do write a lot of numerical analysis code for my research and would like to know if any generic libraries using SIMD are available. Especially for C++ STL - so I can write getChecksum(vector& Data) and it uses MMX2/Altivec or whatever to calculate that faster then the build in alogorythms or my hand code.
Thank you for pointing at my ignorance - but you did not answer my question:) Still searching web..
hmm.. fishy. Evolution is science. It is not a question of faith. It is a question of knowledge and logic. Common mistake is to treat science in the same style as common knowledge or faith. Science is quite different view of the world. And it does not contradict other views.
Code Warrior? Umm, I use gcc/Code Fusion for development. I thought about some open MMX/Altivec cross-platform libraries (ideally compatible with STL containers) to write my numerical code.. Are any existing (web search yielded noting so far) - My dream would be something like GNU Scientific Library, but in C++ (it is very contrproductive to write scientific analysis software in C, sorry all C fans..) and with MMX/Altivec enhancements available...

Frank Black should join Scully. Screw Molder.
P.S. Black is the Millennium uberdude - set your VCR on 1am weekdays to FX - it is beeing rerun now..
2. Lance Henriksen (as Frank Black)
That would kick ass. It would be just great. It should be done from the start. Duchovny sucks. Henriksen rocks. I love Scully.
...much better series. I want them to continue... Screw X-files.
I love Scully.
People have been using the occular graphic processors for millions of years
:)
Your people are not my people, apparently... My people have not been around that long..
Apes among us
What is the fill rate of the human eye??

AcceleratedX rocks, BTW...
ditto.
..that blows the doors off almost all imported stuff.
Only because good stuff is not imported. It is still piss compared to good German thing...
It is foggy and girls are all pierced and ugly. Cross the bay.. ;)

That means the ONLY solution is to not allow software patents altogether.

Whats wrong with the damn thing - it eats brackets...
forgot http://
forgot http:// .. in the link?
... how you nake "news" out of randomscientific experiment. - Maybe you just put a link to xxx.lanl.gov instead?
Duh.
It ate my "bracket" int "bracket" !!

Personally, i believe very strongly in Evolution

Read the book, than talk.
Very typical of evolution bashers - arrogant ignorance.
Concrete evidence that suggests evolution as fact is lacking
Your existence shows there is no evolution. You never evolved out of the ape stage...

And we all switch to .deb. Much rejoicing..
Yeah, than smbd just write another installation routine. Installation routine is mighty irrelevant. Changes in the core system we should worry about.
