    The paper says that a slot is basically the bounds on a site. You can think of them as the same but there are some small differences that do not really mean much here.

    Small point but the data was the median not the mean. The metric should not be used to evaluate individual sites. The idea was to determine if there in a inherit difference between the different languages and how they are used in the real world. Are PHP and Java really much more insecure a programming language?

    The NDR is from qmail but it is from my server which ofcoarse does not run anything but linux. The error message is from my server telling me that the message could not be sent. It is not a bounce from MS's server. However, it would be really funny if they where running linux.... if they need stability, security and reliability it would be the obvious choice :)

    Surprise surprise microsoft is being misleading. Also, the FAQ says that in order to opt-out you just send a message to winsurv@microsoft.com but when you do the message bounces with

    I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out. : 205.248.106.30 does not like recipient. Remote host said: 550 5.1.1 User unknown Giving up on 205.248.106.30.
    So you cannot ever get out of the programme after you find out that microsoft was screwed you.

    Schools are strapped for money, why are they spending it on expensive software. It costs a lot of money to purchase the software plus to manage the licenses. Schools often lack the resources and they are not gaining anything by doing this. The focus should not be on learning to use a specific program but to teach the fundamental concepts behind what the software is doing. OpenSource software has come of age. It is now as good as or better then a lot of proprietary software. There are may reasons to use Open Source and many good reasons to not use proprietary software let alone very old version.
