It's also amazing how people choose to live far from infrastructure and then cry when stuff isn't handed to them on a plate. I'm not a huge fan of big cities but I understand that by choosing not to live in one, I'm giving up on some things. If I lived halfway up a mountain, I wouldn't be expecting anyone to beat a path to my door with gigabit broadband either.
It doesn't even require that level of sophistication. Within a mix, if you aren't using some kind of normalization, older music often just sounds quieter and requires increasing the level.
This is true. I also remember a theory that it's not the width of the vehicle as such as that the brain uses the two headlights to judge angle quickly (possibly using the same wiring as for a predator's eyes?). Single or no headlight and that information is missing and an impact threat is not noticed..
I have an EFI system and I'm thinking of moving back to LILO. It's not the fault of the boot managers, it's that if I happen to try and boot without the hard-drive plugged in, the motherboard forgets the hard drive from whatever table it's in and it will no longer boot (though the hard-drive itself is detected fine). This is with a fairly modern motherboard. Back to legacy boot until it matures a little, I guess.
To be frank, something better needed to come along. I'm not sure if systemd is it or whether it will become just another place to have to look when things go wrong. If a distribution is going to go one way, it should go that way all the way. Cron has become just as bed, I now have to look in three places anytime I want to track down a script if I don't already know where it is.
Perhaps it could proceed through a process of "tipping". You pick someone up, take them where they want to go and at the end, they tip or not whatever they feel like.
The catch? The drivers can review past tipping actions of people and decide whether or not they are inclined to pick them up. I'm sure it can be gamed but I suspect it would possibly still work out well overall. It's possible to skip out on a cab fare too, after all.
I think I would draw 600 out of the bank, put it on the table and say "Yours to spend if I can cancel the cable". You may have to work out a deal for subsequent years. Also no backsies unless paid for.
Sure. But not all of us wanted the "popular" channels. There were only two channels we actually wanted at the time we decided to cut the cord and I believe one of those had just been moved out of the basic tier.
I always thought there was something fishy about "Chicken of the Sea"
Parallel networks in many places are prevented by legislation, not by cost.

Apple and beats? Sounds like a badly conceived pie.

He who pays the piper calls the tune.
Depends completely on jurisdiction. Best not to generalize.

Insert Obama paraphrased quote here.
I've been Slackware for a long time. I had been stuck on 12.something for a long time and recently jumped up to 14.1. Very impressed with the changes.

Perfect. For an area where parking is at a premium, reduce availability by 3-16%
"Striking" might be the word.
I dunno, they might go after them for production of CO2 from unlicensed combustion though.
If you do it, it might be a sham.
Or you might be a politician.
"Zombie John Wayne is my copilot"
Make no decisions or choices, brake in a straight line.

Sadly, I'm sure many jurisdictions require a license to be a dog groomer.
The hardest part is the rifling.

Or it is now, at least.
No, he is right. It would be cheap because it is low demand. If it is unable to cover its costs, it will go away. This is how things should be.
However, likely such a channel would include lots of advertising so it may even be able to survive at a price of 0.
