    get real ... reaaly good choice for desktop os ;) more stable and faster than xp32 as the xp64 is based on windows server 2003 core ;)

    I'm power user and Java developer and I've been turning off swap file since the time I had 2GB of RAM. It was quite an improvement(on WinXP). And with 4GB it was a real treat. Don't use swap file unless you really need to!

    Not even the central server would be necessary .. there is work underway on p2p version of SIP called p2psip.

    Haven't you heard about drive by attacks? One does not need to download/run anything, just visit compromised site, and it happens that even high profile sites are compromised, most often through XSS. And the firewall for PC behind "router"(you'd better use "NAT" or ip masquarade) is quite usefull most often when there is more than one PC on the local net. And when you are mentioning "router", most of them feature WIFI AP and as we all know, the average Joe does not change the default setting so anyone can play pranks on Joe's local net ;)

    Can you prove it? Rootkits? Priviledge escallation? Malware != virus != bot ... Anyone? Even if it were true, it does not prove your tactic is a good one... you just might have been lucky... Ditching firewall(neither for private nor public IP) is not a good idea. First, there are many programs that open ports. And second, there isn't a day that my outer perimeter isn't under constant attacks.

    The proposed law, suggest that the state would pay for the ISP's losses, so it might even be profitable for ISP to cut a customer. This is not just about p2p anymore. This is about basic freedom/survival...

    If you read the consequences suggested on wiki(on of them is mandatory Trusted computing) which could lead that you wont be even able to write/run your own altered program, as only certified programs would be allowed and that would be end of IT as we know it and that must NOT happen

    There are already claims that its possible to distinguish the protocols inside encrypted channels based on packet size and timming with quite high accuracy

    Try this, optical link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RONJA. And even with wifi and custom TCP/IP stack one can get good conectivy over tens, even hundred miles ... look up some wifi conn records

    Per site, but not per domain. This is just the one think that holds me back. Anyone any suggestions? Is there an real alternative for noscript on opera? Thanks.
