It's got something to do with hard-disk and folder encryption. so the stuff that's on my pc can only be opened by the user who made it and then only on my pc.
I keep it turned off (The chip can be disabled from the BIOS) for the sake of performance (my motherboard decrypting / encrypting every access to my hard-disk!!!?) and convenience (multi-boot).
Would they require this feature to be always turned on. That would be unpleasant to say the least
