  1. Re:It's about McDonalds and screen resollutions on What Linux Must Do To Survive... · · Score: 1

Actually, that might be the only positive to eating McDonald's. Their hamburgers are NOT made of beef(its 30% ostrich, and 70% soy..) so they can't have "Mad-Cow" disease.

Umm.. considering its Music TeleVision, they do occasionally, every once in a while, have music videos. Not enough to make the station not suck though..

I believe that Teknap can do this, although I've never used it before so I can't verify this for sure.

  4. Re:God feating goats on Want To Playtest An Xbox? · · Score: 1

Actually.. it runs CE, but very few games actually use CE and CE doesn't run unless it is needed for a game. From what I've heard, CE is just included on the discs of the games when it is needed, but I can't back that up.

The funny thing is, Microsoft hasn't cornered the hardware market, but the hardware they do make(mouses.. keyboards.. SideWinder GamePads) is actually pretty good, and well.. doesn't suck. While on the software end, which they do control, sucks. Coincidence? I think not..

  6. Re:...and the problem is? - you're misinformed on Linux Leads MS in Itanium Support · · Score: 1

If you had actually read the article, you would know that several Linux distros are shipping RELEASED, STABLE versions for the Itanium, while what Microsoft has is an unstable(aren't they all?) version that won't be released to the public till a long time after the Itanium release.

  7. Re:Open Source Bio? on Linus Torvalds Announces Autobiography · · Score: 1

That's very unlikely, especially considering its an AUTO-biography, meaning Linus writes about himself.

    The only major open-source effort?

What about Apache? Isn't 60+% marketshare good enough to be considered major?

Actually, if you go to the TV listing for your local station, you should be able to search it from there.

Unfortunately, it's not on my local station until April 9. I was looking forward to watching that tonight, oh well..

As a matter of fact, I believe the Announce category was created for this fact. You can just set it in your preferences that you don't want to see software announcements.

Also: I am excited to see that FreeBSD4 is out. This is a great step for the FreeBSD crowd, although I will admit I don't use FreeBSD(yet.. I'm building a Linux box though. I just got the case and modem today :-)

  12. Re:aaaargh on Test Drive Debian at Compaq · · Score: 2
This was to announce that they are adding Debian to the line, so it really isn't redundant.

I haven't registered yet, but I might just have to try it. It seems pretty cool.

  13. Re:I'm gonna take a lot of heat for this. on Top Ten Geeks of the Millennium? · · Score: 1

There is no real, hard, physical evidence of a God, the same God that is part of many religions, not just Christianity. Belief in God, and therefore religion(which aetheism is not a part of) is based on faith. There is no evidence against a God, but it can be argued that without faith in God, or at least a deeper meaning in life, this world would probably have been destroyed numerous times. That in itself is reason enough to believe and have faith. Jeremy Catholic Christian

I'd have to agree with you. He's got nothing over the average SlashDot reader. How come we don't get articles about us featured? Well. I guess because we aren't world-famour musicians, but ANYWAY.
