    Patents on SOFTWARE are like patenting 1 + 1 = 2.

    1. Understand any documentation or diagrams that explain what the high level purpose is of the processing. 2. Document the inputs / outputs of the system 3. Determine if it is Object Oriented, Procedural, multi-code language, etc. 4. Search for IDE's for step #3 5. Identify code repository used to manage the code. (If none exist, please submit resume to another corporation quickly). 4. Identify the first layer of processing, and sort out the important sections of code. (Is Input translation the most important, is it the User Interface / middle processing, or are the outputs the most important.) 5. Look at most recent changes / bug fixes based on Issue reporting / QA tracking . 6. Dive into most important sections first.

    I was actually just stating facts. You do realize of course that the Scuds that were launched in the first Gulf war were intended to hit cities / industrial targets, and one of the main reasons they did not was due to poor guidance software ? (Patriots did knock a couple off-track of course.) The Open Specifications are of course available due to the reasons you mentioned. The export restriction variations are a specific executive decision type thing that can be directly tied to an administration. That is not political screed.

    This is the Bush Administration we are talking about. If they wont ship an AMD cpu to Iran, would they really provide inter/intra-orbital software code to be open source ? (Think ICBM)

    Welcome to real processing. I have several perl libraries and individual scripts that top the 20,000 line mark. These are used for medical transaction processing.

    It is a google search to a site which presents a gif image, but there is a vb script which is presenting the gif image, and the vb script is being flagged by my Avast program as a "VBS:Script-gen" warning on //members.on.nimp.org/?u=timecop\unp233996323

    Faster Baud rate, not faster event rate. higher frequency signals can carry more information.
