  1. Err, isn't this already being done? on The Internet Of Things · · Score: 0

Google, Microsoft and Yahoo are all US-based companies.
If any organization were to peak a bit inside their very neatly arranged databases and just have a wee visit to a couple of ISPs, they'd have the real "you" - regardless of your nationality.

I mean, just take MSN contacts.

"Ok, this guy knows her and him, and she knows this gang and this dude. Hmm, and this guy knew her 5 years ago - but they're not keeping contact any longer."

If you include e-mail and other browsing - you could find out more about you than you know about yourself.

    Oh well.

As long as you change your nicks your little boss won't be able to find your porn nick in a Google search for your work nick. And, as far as I understood, this is the new 'feature' that's discussed?

Hm, it would be funny if the passwords people used were searchable though - they are probably a much better identifier than the nick people use.

    Calm down, Disinformed.

Your post reeks of anti-American propaganda.

Not all Americans think they're the best in the world, just as America actually (still) is one of the better countries in the world.
Just as America is the most powerful. And, some would say, the most economically developed.

The US doesn't have any social nets to catch/elevate falling/underprivileged citizens and it has had governments who wage war entirely too easily.
Grave, perhaps, but the US has many great qualities, too.

There's no need to barf your own frustration over the first best thing the medias tell you to hate.

  3. What I never understood... on Washington Woman Sues RIAA for Attorneys Fees · · Score: 1

Is how the RIAA gets evidence at all.

Are they allowed to monitor my cable connection because they feel like trying to get some proof of a crime they have no reason to believe I'm committing in the first place?

It would be like an organization trying take photos of random people, just because "Well, I bet they will sell some drugs sooner or later - and then we'll have 'em!"

    *sigh*
    I don't get these people.
