I had a deaf guy come into the store I work at today. He had a cell phone... I assume he uses text messages to communicate with people, but that was just a really strange sight, and it made me think of this again.
I really enjoyed the switch from 2D to 3D for Metroid. Although, the purist in me said "this isn't right" when they introduced the multiplayer aspect to the second one. Although it seems that they've dropped that from the upcoming one, so all is good again in Mister Kay-land. Damn space pirates... I'll show them...
The key to keeping purists liking new renditions of games is to make them as fun as their predecessor, if not more fun, based on the changes made. Depending on the level of the purism of course. Of course, there's always going to be someone who's disappointed with it as they will feel it's not true to the previous games.
Purism in games is not really different than other media. For Example, personally I loved the new Transformers movie, but anyone who is a fan of the old transformers stuff seems to be disappointed by it. I thought it was a good, fun movie though.
I am with you on that one. It's just what my legally acquired music library needs. Lots and lots of unpaid for music to slap the RIAA in the face. Thank heavens I live in Canada.
Also, has the RIAA sued any deaf people yet? I mean, I know they've sued people without computers, stroke victims, the dead (does that count as deaf?) and children, but have they sued anyone who was deaf yet? I really feel that would be the final shovel of dirt in a case to bury them once and for all.
G-book? or Google Face? Facebook by Google?
On the plus side, that spot that says "I'll find something to put here." can finally be replaced by some good old Google ads. Mmm... sweet sweet personalized advertisements... it makes my nipples a little hard just thinking about it
Hey man,
if there's a dude out there willing to get a zune tattoo that means there must be at least some people out there who are happily willing to buy one. Although the dude's expression seems to say otherwise on the happily point.
I seem to recall hours upon hours of chainsawing through the locust horde on Gears of War which received an M rating... I guess their definition of prolonged is something other than that of which I understand.
I have a few friends who specifically bought the Wii in anticipation of playing the game on the system. They're not the kind of people who would go out and kill people, they're normal, well adjusted individuals who happen to be fans of horror films. Most horror films are more realistic than any game is going to be and are more readily available to children than video games.
Makes ya think what Anthony Burgess would have had to say about this.

according to various news outlets, turning a phone off doesn't solve the problem because the software is 99 parts code, 1 part magic

Madness? This.... is... AMERICAAAAAA!
This log is your log,
This log is my log
When lightning struck it
it hit a bucket
MOE:I poured some onions inside my trousers
This log it used to be a tree
Now it spreads love to you and me
Hey look it's heading out to sea
