You know someone really should inform these people that wolfs and dogs are genetically incompatible and that they are waisting their time and money on their efforts. From their site:

Other experts assert that differences are insignificant and therefore dogs should be classified as a subspecies of wolf, namely Canis lupus familiaris. In fact, genetic analysis shows that wolves and dogs are 99.8% genetically identical (Wayne). That is, dogs and wolves cannot be told apart genetically. Perhaps you should know what you are talking about before you make inaccurate comments.

My parents owned a dog kennel while I was growing up (the birds and the bees was never a mystery for me). I know for a fact that with the exception of fisical limitations (chiwawa vs great dane) all dogs can and if given the opertunity will inter breed. The various types of dogs that we have today are the result of thousands of years of un-natural selection caused by humans limiting and controlling the breeding habits of dogs. If you remove this intelegent designing dogs would do what was natural for them and we would be dealing with a bunch of wolfs today.

I am really currious, exactly how does a fish with both gills and lungs prove evolution? Can a behavioral trait modify our genes? For how many generations would my descendants have to hang out in shallow water before we acquired the genetic material necessary to have gills? If I were to try all my life to stretch my neck longer would my children be born with the genetic material for a longer neck?

I think you have your cause and effect backwards. Is it not more probable that the fish hanges out in shallow water because it has the lungs to get to land.

You are correct that the cell phone signal is indeed non-ionizing, but CAT scanners use the maximum amount of ionizing radiation that is legal to give a person. The legal limits are set so low that the net affect of having a CT is minimal especially when weighed against the possibility of having a serious medical condition go unnoticed.

CT scans typically use radiation with a penetrating strength of @120kvp (KiloVolts Peak). This is strong enough that when a cell is damaged it is usually either fatal to the cell or results in the inability of the cell to reproduce (this makes the chances of getting cancer very slim). This is why pregnant women in their first trimester can not have a CT scan. Our bodies can easily recover form the loss of a few hundred cells, but the baby will almost certainly not be able to recover.

This is all assuming that by CAT scanner you meant Computer Aided Tomography. If you meant something else then please disregard this post.

I should have gotten back a lot sooner with this but my wireless internet service was down.

To answer your question as to why homosexuality is considered wrong in the bible, I first want to say that I understand your point. Most of the sins in the bible effect other people and thus are anti social. It is easy to see why some behavior that is anti social should be prohibited. It is important though to understand that what makes a certain behavior a sin has nothing to do with how that behavior effects sociaty.

    I John 3:4

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

In the above scripture John is referring to what we today call the old testiment. The law of God given to Moses on the mount. Sin is defined as breaking the law of God. Sin therefore has nothing to do with our relationships with each other, but rather it effects our relationship with God. This is why we can have a sociaty where covetousness is normal, lying is mostly excused, and lust is considered healthy. Our sins often don't bring a barriur between us because we all sin.

BUT sin always effects our relationship with God. God is rightous and can not be in unison with sin without giving up his perfect rightousness. This is why the death of Jesus matters, sin had to be attoned for so that we could be free to have a relationship with God.

Homosexuality is contrary to the way God made the human race. It may be normal in our lives today, but so is murder, rape, and theft. Murder, rape, and theft are anti social and thus are agianst the laws of our land, but murder, rape, theft, and homsexuality and all anti rightous and thus are sins.

    Lurker2288,

I am sure that you are aware that most miracles recorded in the Bible (with a few exceptions) were performed either by Jesus Christ, his disciples, or one of the old testament prophets. These miracles were performed to demonstrate to the people that the person was acting on behave of God ie. there message came from God. Today we have the completed bible (the word of God) and anyone who tries to claim that they have a new word from God has to resort to charlatanism to deceive people into following them.

Hence, unless it was your limb that grew back I could not in good conscience advise you to follow the healer.

I am an ordained baptist minister (You will now crucify me I am sure)

I agree with just about everything in your post. Most Christians in America (I have not met any from other countries) are self centered and selfish. They pray mostly for their own benefit, and provide a very poor example of what God would have us to be.

As to the healings (or lack thereof) today, it would probably be useful to note that the bible encompasses thousands of years of earths history during which time relatively few healings took place. Often there were hundreds of years between records of divine intervention into the lives of men. So do not hold your breath waiting for a limb to grow back on any particular person. Consider this, God does not exist for our benefit.

On the issue of homosexuals, yes, they are born that way. Just like every healthy heterosexual teenage male I have every met seems to be born with the natural desire to have sex with as many women as he can. It is important to note that sin is not defined by what you or I might find natural or desirable but rather on what God tells us is right or wrong. The Bible really does state that homosexuality is wrong, and thus it is a sin. just like having heterosexual sex outside of marriage is a sin.

As to the other behaviors listed in your last paragraph, I think you should really be careful. Our society seems to be on a downward slope where we increasingly want to excuse our own behavior by blaming someone else. Whether or not the murderer thief or molester have a good excuse (childhood abuse, financial difficulties, or genetics) what they did was wrong and can not be allowed to continue if our society is to maintain any form of structure.

What you say about Christians being selfish, though, is sadly very true.

  10. Re:Hm. on IBM Develops Technology That Could Store Data In Atoms · · Score: 1

I am not sure of the process that IBM uses, but.. MRI utilizes a large magnetic field to energize the molecules in your body that are polarized (water) into the same direction. The machine then uses radiant energy (microwaves) to excite the polarized molecules (water) thus causing them to wobble off their axis. When the radiant energy (microwaves) is turned off the polarized molecules' "wobble" starts to decay such that the molecule will reline with the large magnetic field thus releasing the extra energy that was gained in the form of radio waves (microwaves). Microwave antennas are positioned around the part being imaged to receive the radio waves. Large computers reconstruct the data to form an image. By the way MRI rooms are shielded with a feriday cage to prevent normal microwave energy from interfering with the signal coming from the patient.

  13. Re:What About using Gravity on Perpetual Energy Machine Getting Lots of Attention · · Score: 1

I think that most agree the perpetual motion is hogwash, but what if you could tap a force in nature that would never diminish (ie. gravity). For instance. Would it not be conceivable to create a (rather large) machine that had at the bottom a huge electrolysis tank where water was broken into its constituent components (hydrogen and oxygen). these gasses could then be piped to a height some great distance above where they are then burned to produce electricity. You would then have water at a great hight above the tank that could be allowed to fall through a series of turbines thus producing electricity. At some height the power produced by the falling water should overcome the net loss of the electrolysis process. Any additional height should produce extra power that could then be used for whatever we want. Would this not be a viable way to tap gravity for the production of electricity?
