It sounds to me like planned obsolescence. I just hope the battery holds out for the 2 years.
It will be really interesting to see how the new gpl effects their linux strategy.
While some heavily regulated industries may like this, it seems to me that the piracy and privacy risks warrant more concern from RIM.
