Pierre Salinger was kind of a crackpot at this point in his career, so just because he believed somebody was an MI-5 operative doesn't mean much. He was a laughing stock because of all of his conspiracy theories at the time.
It's true. I read the same thing on Wikipe... wait a minute.
I hope they go Valve and get it right before releasing it for real...
Not because I cared about either finished product, but I do enjoy watching all my friends with a case of (figurative--or in this case, literary) blue balls.
I don't see how the relationship between programmers, their programs, their computers & the math at the heart of digital computation are necessarily more integral than the relationship between musicians, their music, their instruments & the math at the heart of the way the sound is generated, transmitted & received. Yet, we generally do not treat music as a sub-discipline (or sibling, or however you want to define the general consensus of the CS/Math relationship today) of math.
Should math be an important part of systems that focus on numeric input & output? Undoubtedly.
Should math be an important part of systems that focus on human input & pleasing/practical/"human-like" output? As soon as I hear music by HAL that rivals that of Beethoven or The Beatles, sure.
