Newsweek's Dan Lyons is charged with orchestrating and leading the terrorist attack on AT&T.
Seriously it seems the days of this kind of civil demonstration or protest are over. These actions have all been chucked up to terrorism with associated jail time.
I'm not sure what the motivation is here. Either "privacy" is some sort of religious thing for you, in which case giving up Facebook is a small price to pay, or it's a pragmatic matter, in which case you can make a decision about what the pros and cons are for you instead of asking us.
If you're asking whether I personally am impressed by someone bragging about how he refuses to use Facebook or GMail: it impresses me about as much as someone who brags about not having heard of some television show.
I think you are missing the point here. I don't have facebook, myspace, etc. It's not about impressing others. For me, at least, its about not having the ability to find out almost everything about me by just googling something as trivial as my phone number. I don't want everything about me to be available to anyone.
And yes I think that comes with a price. You are going to lose out on the easy ability to bond with friends or have those things in common. I do not think you can have both. You are certainly welcome to try. For me I have found a middle ground. I am happy enough not being 'easy' to find.
I have had arguments with my wife over her pictures of me in her social networking sites. It is not an easy road if you value your privacy. I also think it is a losing fight.
I read/. posts everyday and impressed with the awesome insights many people provide. I certainly do not think this poster is looking for admiration. It sounds more like he is looking for insights into how others deal with similar feelings towards our battle for what might be the illusion of privacy.
Having seen it twice through I enjoyed it almost as much as I did the first time. The movie was great and I hope they get started on the next one soon. I think Heath's acting was well done and I didn't even find Batman's voice irritating.
The one problem I did have with the movie is the effort to keep it PG-13 by hiding almost all the blood.
Take the scene from the cell with Batman and the Joker. Batman beats the snot out of the Joker and not a single bruise. That is not believable. When Batman smashes Joker's hand into the table, he didn't even wince. If someone was punching you in the face even without all that armor on his fist there would be some marks. That honestly, really annoys me.
Unless batman's punches are really woosy or he has some serious soft padding on his fists there should have been some blood. I think back to the original where the Joker gets punched and spits out those fake teeth covered in blood. I would have liked to see a bit of realism there. There was almost no blood where I think there realistically should have been and that very much killed the immersion for me in scenes like that.
Any1 else feel this way?
Important to keep in mind that the 360 is not just a game console. If the 360 is damaging DVDs how does that return policy on M$ game DVDs cover people that use their 360 as their exclusive DVD player. It also raises a question on the new HD DVD player for the 360. Has any1 checked that drive?
If it is marketed as a DVD player which it is then if it is responsible for damaging those disks if is not functioning as intended or as advertised.

I just wanted to tell you that this is the best comment I have seen in a long time. I actually printed it out and hung it up on my wall. Thanks!
