You could dial someone personal number, and any phone close to him would just ring, even if he's sitting in someone elses office for the moment...

Oh... joy. That's just what I'd need. It really is bad enough my company requires that I carry a pager (I'm not important enough yet to have to carry a cell-phone). I think we're way too "connected" as it is.

Are you seriously suggesting a post that says "all it will be worth in the future is for getting rid of the fecal residue of a Mexican Pizza" doesn't deserve the worthless/flamebait tag? I can appreciate criticism of Linux, but I have no problems when offensive garbage is moderated down.

CmdrTaco, where's the disclaimer stating that you own Red Hat stock and have a vital interest in reporting positive news about the company? Slashdot is getting really sleazy these days.

I'd be more inclined to agree with this if he's "forgotten" to include the loss RedHat took or shoved that news out of the main announcement.

Know this: when you're in line at Egghead buying a copy of Red Hat Linux, you may as well just take your $50 and send it off directly to the Chinese Communists in Beijing.

I love it. You wouldn't happen to be "S" from comp.os.linux.advocacy, would you? He's made similar loopy claims, though not nearly as eloquently as you have.

And was it really worth it? This is one of my biggest pet peeves about some websites -- overuse (or use) of Javascript where it just isn't necessary. I like to surf around with Javascript turned off, and it annoys me when none of the links work on a site that tries to be really flashy, because all the links are just JS calls.

Please point out "all the massacres" in the American schools. Guess what, there were rather few -- the ones that happen just get a ton of publicity. Now, take that number and compare it to the sheer number of schools in the US. Hmmm, sounds like you're exagerrating a problem here.

anon.penet.fi was a wonderful place. I used to have an account on there... I knew it was shut down, but I had no idea it was because of Scientology bastards. It just seems to be an organization you just can't do anything about. For the time being, they seem to be legal untouchables because they're so amazingly aggressive, and no one wants to trample on a "religion."
