my favorite was on my first full week at my current job, we had some major problems with the project we were working on and i had to stay to help. I went in for my regular shift thursday night at 11:30 and came home around 10 in the morning on saturday. got to love those 33 hour shifts.
Oh well, atleast i get paid hourly, mmmmmmm overtime
Counting the hours i spend in the office, i work an average of 38 hours a week with about 10 hours of overtime.
I work as a network technician at a major web hosting company during the night shift (there it's 9pm-9am), i switch off nights with the other night tech so we work 3 to 4 nights a week. so i'll work 36-38 hours one week and then about 50 the next. I know this isn't much compared to how many hours other people work, but i'm a lowly tech, i'm never on call, and i just monitor the servers and restore tapes sent to us by clients. the senior techs on the other hand are always there, the first week i was there my supervisor had worked abount 100 hours that week.
My Girlfriend goes to (suposedly) one of the most secure colleges in the country, all the doors are maglocked, all non dorm residents must sign in at the door with the security guard, and visitors are only allowed for 2 days once a month. Now, i go to visit her sometimes 4 times a month, we usually just walk by the security guard and once, i went up to her room, on the 4th floor of one of the buildings in the dorm complex she lives in without going past a single guard or disabling any of the maglocks.
I guess what i'm getting at is, it's one thing to make these laws, it's another thing to enforce em.
Heck, i think the original evil dead was a film project when the two of them were in college together. either that or it was just a low buget horror movie, either way....

Maybe if they arrest you after stealing the car/mugging that person/etc... then they have a right to go after you. but they shouldn't be able to do anything to you until you commit the crime. Looking like you are about to commit a crime doesn't count.

Life sucks. actually i had alot of fun my first year at college, it was hard, i got stressed and the food was bad, but overall it was so much better than high school ever was, and alot more fun too. whoever said that your high school years are the best years of your life was on a seriously large amount of crack. high school blew, i knew it could only get better from there, and i was right, so far.
The difference between a "democracy" and a totaltarian state is that while they can both try to implement censorship, it will only work in the totaltarian state because the people have no voice. while guns maybe helpful in a full scale revolution, words are much more powerful on a day to day basis.
okay, you hit a raw nerve with the single parent thing, i grew up and matured more after my mom divorced my dad and we moved away than i did before. No my dad didn't abuse my mom, they just didn't get along (at all). so you can't say that all double parent households are better than all single parent house holds.
Funny, my mom raised two kids, and while i was living at home, she was able to keep my brother out of the porn and violence that resides online and in games (i was old enough so it didn't matter when i got the computer). it's not that difficult. if you can't monitor what your children are doing on the computer at home then perhaps it's time to move the computer or restrict access.
Theres a small difference between an oven activly killing people because it got too hot and killed every one in the room, or an ice cream sandwich freezing your hands while it's still in the wrapper, and taking a cup of coffee (which was in a cup), and placing it between your legs. it's called common sense, if the ice cream was at absolute zero, i think you might notice (i really think it would look alittle more than frosty) and not pick it up. if the coffee was too hot, i.e. too hot to hold the cup, maybe she should have put it on the seat next to her.
Man, i wish i were stupid, then i could be an instant millionare too.
heck, you think the cases you hear about are stupid... i know someone who works for the courts, you should hear about the ones that don't make it to the news

Ok, i'm still trying to find the first bug in Q2, the only reasons i ever got the patches was so i could play on other servers.
i'd have to go with a hoax.... remind me not to check any web pages early in the morning, my brain just doesn't work right, damn holidays sneaking up on me like that.

hitler didn't personally commit any of the actual physical crimes any more than gates personally codes his software. but they both lead the groups and give the orders therefore they are the dirt bags who are responsible.
you might also want to consider that back then christmas had almost nothing to do with the birth of christ. It was more a wild party in the streets, with people getting drunk and breaking into others houses, and then 9 months later a whole lot of ilegitimit children were born. there was no worshiping of the baby jesus born in the manger, nor was there santa claus, heck he wasn't even invented until the mid 18 hundreds.
christmas has never actually been strictly religious, it was put there to pull in non christians. so if you want to really look at it, chirstmas has always been a commercial holiday
I beleive deep in my heart that my religion is the right one for me, it doesn't make me think that your religion is wrong though. I have enough respect for others beleifs. hey the only true way to find if your religious beleif is the true one is to die. then you'll know for sure.
