Why not make the processors energy efficient in the first place? I don't see why my laptop is heated up to 55C right now, when all that power could go into stopping iTunes from clipping tracks...

You're right - the Earth produces its own byproducts, but you have to weigh out the quantities of natural "pollutants" and those that are manmade. The Earth has only accounted for the means of cleaning up pollution that She produces (trees, for example), defences that are being extensively cut out and depleted. To say that reckless, dirty, energy-wasting pollution doesn't contribute to GW, is to be a total ignorant twat.
