Seeing how that appears to have happened (like we ever doubted it wouldn't!), the pdf docs (the important stuff) has been mirrored at http://printf.net/transmeta/
I can see Uri's point... Un Geller is rather similar to Uri Geller, and he surely has a right to be at least consulted before they do something like this, but as for the bent spoons... surely that's up to him to patent?
Quite proposterous... why not run it with *nix, or at least something vaguely y2k compliant.. also, does running win98 slow down your brain processes as much as it does with a normal PC?
I'm sorry... you're right. There have been shops over here advertising 733s, although when quizzed they've all said they're 'out of stock'... how convenient (!)
A 750 Mhz Athlon cannot be much better than a 733 Mhz Athlon...? Surely the huge price premium is more to make a profit for those k-rad hax0rs who can go and measure their processor speed in gigahertz... AFAIK there are no > 700 Mhz CPUs available in the UK, so I can't get one for the moment, but when they do come out, will there be a practical use for them?
At last the BSD world is being recognized as an alternative to Linux. I've seen linux go download IMHO, and would like to see a proper OS get some time in the spotlight.
Does anyone else think that perhaps allowing anyone to patent anything is a trifle stupid? But whilst we're at it, I'll take the Internet, Cray, and Cookie Dough Ice Cream
Wow! I'm amazed that politicians actually know what the internet is... over here in Inkylnad, they're still trying to push the 'one computer in every classroom' ideal. I doubt if they even know what the internet is!
Are they really worth the effort? RC5 and SETI are both successful, but both of them require a permanent connection to the net (in essence) in order to get the best updates etc. (if ya get what i mean). As this was a UK-based thing, why not send the whole lot around on a CD?

...my true love ave to me... A CRAY!!! http://www.sgi.com/t90
Why not just go backto invisible ink on plain old paper? Sure as hell beats all this quantum crap, and it's cheaper too!
