  1. Why do we need a remake? on The Prisoner To Be Remade On U.K. TV · · Score: 4, Insightful
Why do we constantly need a remake of everything? Battlestar Galactica is about the only good remake to come in a long line of them.

I can see maybe another series LIKE the Prisoner, but not a complete remake of the series. The series is a classic. The way it uses music, and of course the mannerisms of No. 6.....

  2. Re:not piracy on The Place Of Modern MIDI Music? · · Score: 1
After researching this for a project I just completed, you do need to compensate the copyright owners. Techincally, when you create a Midi of a song, and put it out on the net, it qualifies as a performance, which the copyright holders are entitled to get $.08 cents a song for.

Of course, chord changes to a song do not count. Anything that has the MELODY. So, you could make a Midi of everything except the melody, and put that out there. I don't believe that is a problem. The copyright issue is when you associate a chord progression with a melody. That is a song.

  3. Re:MIDI vs. General MIDI on The Place Of Modern MIDI Music? · · Score: 1
Yeah, I'd agree mostly with what you say. The Brass samples are good except for the trumpet sounds. I like the trombones and tuba.

I think GPO gets a lot of press because it's easy to use. Finale now comes with a version. However, the system requirements for GPO are insane. I can't get more than 5 or 6 samples playing on my 2.5 Gigahertz Athlon. And that is when it's being slaved from my Mac.

EastWest has a great samples as well. Of course, Native Instruments has some excellents sounds as well.

If the US has not used atomic weapons since. We could have used them a number of times, but we have chosen other ways to fight wars.

But I stick by my statement. The threat now is not that a country would use an atomic weapon, but some sort of radical group, which is hard to pin down where they are out of, would be the likely culprit. Any country that uses a nuclear weapon would face total destruction by other countries.

You are right, it is completely SUBJECTIVE. When you can prove that the US is inept at running the internet (IE: the domain servers getting massively messed up or something), then you can resubmit your claim that we can't run it.

Till then, STFU. The EU trying to take control is purely political right now, and it would cause nothing but problems.

Prove your points or STFU. What is worse some naked pictures of people in prison (done by a handful of soldiers), or beheading civilians on TV?

The US is not perfect, but we don't behead people, nor blow up crowds of people. What would you propose we do, bury our heads in the sand and pretend that there are some insane people in the Middle East who want to bring terror to the states. Do you want something like Israel going on in the States?

No, that is why you take the fight to the enemy.

WMD are not going to be used by a country against another country. It would have happened in the 60's. What the real threat now is the technology and materials being available to radical groups to build their own bombs, or these groups getting a working bomb from a nuclear country.

Take your leftist, black and white view outta here.
