And yet hardware support in Linux/BSD has never been better. Please, continue spreading your FUD - maybe there'll be a bumper crop harvest as a result.
the United Kingdom is party to an agreement whereby extradition must be refused to any country which has the death penalty and where the suspect is to be tried in a capital case
Bolded the key part here - is US vs Assange a capital case, or a regular criminal case?
Bicycle theft is a huge issue in the Netherlands. Around 750,000 bikes are stolen per year. 50,000 are stolen in Amsterdam alone, meaning that about 10% of all cycles in the city are stolen annually.
Yet they still cycle.
A typical bike is also a lot cheaper than a typical car, so the cost of replacing it isn't as severe.
Of course, because the interface was XP with a better Start Menu, that must make it crap. Oh wait, that's not true. I'm guessing you don't have karma to burn.
True, but then again it shouldn't have been necessary to jailbreak in the first place. Mind you, I have a WinPhone, which isn't much better in that respect.
Not sure how Cydia is using iOS bugs, since it only works after the iPhone is jailbroken. Unles you meant something else, in which case I'm afraid you'll have to elaborate.
a page with a flash window always steals the keyboard controls
Not quite - it's more Flash refusing to free they keyboard unless you force focus to a textbox or something. Then Flash finally relinquishes control to the browser.
Why should the motherboard manufacturers write the drivers for the included chipsets? Isn't that something the chipset manufacturers should be doing?

I forgot motherboard manufacturers like to throw away whole market segments for no reason - thanks for reminding me.
MS doesn't have to be generous - they don't write the motherboard BIOS.
Oh no! If only secure boot was optional, then it wouldn't be a problem!
Wait, what's this?
When secure boot is enabled
Wanna try again with the FUD?

I've yet to see any evidence I can't dual-boot Linux & Win8 on the same machine.
Same reason why drivers are served over Windows Update - convenience.
See my sig :)

I rode a bike for the first 20 years of life without a helmet and lived.
Irrelevant - your changes of being in an accident remain the same now as they did 20 years ago, give or take a couple of percentage points.
I know how to AVOID CARS.
But do the cars know how to avoid you?

For the experienced rider used to traffic helmet reduce visability
How big do you think cycle helmets are? I've never seen one that reduces lateral vision.
Poorly trained cyclists, in short, are bloody dangerous
FTFY - it's not the equipment, it's the ability to use it that matters.
Please provide references to back up your claim.
Have you seen THX1138?
Don't have to - you can hear it from a mile away...

Really? I just press the power button, which has been the default in Windows since XP at least.
My karma for mod points...
Same way you put anything on the Start Screen. Just remember to tell Steam to create a shortcut in the (what would have been) Start Menu, then pin it.
Vista was a disaster
Mainly because drivers weren't updated correctly to the new architecture.
Always a bit dangerous in the event that they 'fix' the bug
Why did you quote 'fix'? No software should be relying on bugs in the OS to work.
If you have to apologize, you ARE the "bad people."
Funny, it's usually the 'bad people' that don't have a conscience.

Or Office Automation. Either way, it's separate from the dev environment.
