That shirt would not infringe on their copyright, however it would infringe on their registered trademarks. I wonder how that would be treated by ebay, though. What if someone was auctioning a Green Jello cd (remember that band? they had to change their name to Green Jelly because of trademark violations) Would Jello (or the company who owns them) be able to have that auction removed merely because the name on the cd violates their trademarks? If so, it's time for ebay to disappear into a cyber-void somewhere.
HELLO!! what OS(that a gamer would be concerned with) besides MacOS do you know that DOESN'T work on a PC? I would think that would be reason enough for NVidia to make their hardware compatible with other OSes...other than the fact that there's something between them and M$ so they don't want to. Dat's my 2 bits on that one.
enough of the damn flamewar about AIDS vs cancer I wouldn't want to do that because of that episode of The Outer Limits where they did exactly the same thing as that article talks about. Not that I believe anything on that TV show, but what if this is the one time that they're actually right? I don't wanna be the freak that took the pill and turned into a monster... Call me stupid...i'd just rather be safe than sorry.
RealNetworks has for quite a while been offering their own software that enables you to download and store.rm files on your computer. I think that they are just sore because someone else is making it so that people don't have to spend $50? $100? on their product in order to do that..rm has always been storeable. take a look in your Temp folder some time after you play a.rm...they're sitting right there, ready to be copied to somewhere else on your computer and kept. I just never liked RealPlayer because most.rm files are poor quality.
I hope that RealNetworks does not win their lawsuit. I would compare it to a judge favoring M$ in a lawsuit against the makers of wine or some other windoze emulator.
Just like pocket translators, every first year foreign language student is going to want one so he can learn how to say all the naughty words. At least now the teacher won't have to tell them that they are pronouncing their swear words wrong.
Even if travellers use them, I doubt that they will be taken seriously. Can you imagine someone walking up to you with a little box, fumbling to make sure it hears him while he talks into it, then thrusting it at you for it to speak something that is more than likely SOMEWHAT recognizable as English (-or insert another language of preference here)? I would just laugh. --

"Buddine said that she has received more than 10 emails from WebTV users who claim to have had been affected. "
More than ten eh? They better watch out...pretty soon it'll reach the "more than 15" mark...then they'll REALLY be in trouble!
