"Capitalism" did not tank anything. I think you know that the US Government had a major role in creating and deepening the sub-prime mortgage crisis. HUD had for years prior been directing the GSEs to back sub-prime mortgages. Without this push there wouldn't have been nearly as many such loans made. The outcome of this policy is typical of central planning--start with a noble idea, in this case increasing home ownership, add bad planning and terrible execution and we're left with a horrible result.

Doc Ruby was attempting to undermine his opponent and thereby support his 'position' by slinging an irrelevant accusation toward AC. This is absolutely argumentum ad hominem. No magic, and no feelings, as I wasn't the AC being accused. I was just calling out the BS.

Argumentum ad hominem. AC is either right or wrong regardless of who he works for. You didn't offer anything substantive to contradict the comment.

I agree. We should have the Government take that bored rich guy's $250,000 and give it to the poor guy. After all, it wasn't that poor guy's fault that he mortgaged his home to start a business and failed. It would only be fair, that rich guy obviously has way too much.
