Is this all a joke? All of this stuff about taking too much wind? I don't get it. This better be a joke or there are a lot more retarded people on /. than I ever imagined.

Do you have any idea what you are talking about? If hardware companies actually developed drivers for Linux there would be no problem.
Or they could open the source of the windows drivers and save Linux developers a lot of hassle in getting the hardware to work.

Oh and yeah... end users are generally the problem but Windows makes it so easy for them.

I still have problems transferring files to and from Vista over a network. Takes hours for a 1GB folder sometimes. Do the same to and from my XP or Linux machines, I have no problem at all.
That and the horrible "Network and Sharing Center" are my only real complaints these days. It is stable now but I wouldn't say it is more or less stable than XP.
I don't understand why there is any need to move away from XP. The only problem is Microsoft stopping their support for it.
Is there something new in Vista or 7 that is going to benefit me?

I play some games using Wine and they run fairly well with only a few problems. Any games that I can't run smoothly with wine I will play in Windows. It's really sucks having to boot into Windows when I want to play a particular game but it's the only choice I have. I can't stand using Windows on my home computer for too long. Don't exactly know why, I think I am just really used to all my programs in Linux and it looks pretty.

I prefer the uncompressed FLAC or CD because it's as close to live as one can get.

That is the biggest load of crap ever. Do you go to gigs in a sound proof building with only you there listening?

Are you the type of person that buys majorly overpriced cables for their sound system?

Some music can sound better in a compressed format. It is all a matter of taste and what sounds good to you.

If you want your music to sound as close to live as possible you just need to add in people yelling and clapping, and girls screaming.

There may be a difference in quality but who really cares? I don't feel any more satisfied after watching a movie on Blu-ray. If the movie sucks it sucks... if it's good it is good. The quality of the picture I'm looking at and the sound I'm hearing doesn't change the content of the movie.
If I am watching an action movie on a big screen as opposed to a small screen that makes a big difference to my enjoyment of a movie. It's all about the size, not the quality of the picture.
