Seven years later, I still play the DOOM series on a near-daily basis. It was the first game to scare the crap out of me, and it still happens sometimes (like in TeamTNT's Eternal DOOM). WADs are also much smaller than Half-Life levels (essential with a modem). Source ports have definitely made it more enjoyable by enhancing gameplay and eyecandy, particularly ZDoom.
Barring Doom, I'd pick Dynamix's Aces of the Pacific. Dedicated? I racked up 762 kills as a USAAF pilot from 1941 in the Philippines to December 1946 (official add-on pack), at 78% difficulty. The P-38 was the shit.
Other favorites? TIE Fighter CD-ROM, Worms 2, Thief Gold, Final Fantasy III (SNES), Civilization II, and Wings of Fury (Apple IIc). --
Uh, isn't the House of Representatives there to
make up for the Senate imbalance? Alan Dershowitz was talking out his ass.
A closer truth would be that the Framers didn't trust
Joe Luser to be up on the latest developments in
Washington (valid in those days), so the EC was
instituted as a buffer. --

I'm glad that somebody answered the religious freedom question.
That said, notice that Bush only mentions religions that worship the Judeo-Christo-Islamic god.
Notice that he was also quoted as saying that the military should rethink its decision to allow pagans to worship on military bases.
What he doesn't say is as important as what he does say. --
Very unlikely. When I upgraded my x2 modem to v.90 a couple years ago, I noticed that USR only had upgrades for the newest modems, with 33.6 being the slowest. ISTR it's officially because the DSPs on older modems (like your 28.8) can't keep up at higher bitrates.
As to whether mine can be upgraded, it's a moot point. The poor thing died on me last month.:( --
Or you could use Ximian's Dia, which is FREE FREE FREE.

Richard Stallman. Larry Wall. Are they the same man? You be the judge...

Um, hasn't SpeedStep been around for a while on the slower processors?
ISTR reading about this on The Register many months ago.
