I'm not sure if I agree with your logic. I believe by the release of Windows 7, at the end of the Windows Vista life cycle, 32-bit will have been phased out. In fact, I'm not even sure there's a 32-bit processor capable of running Vista unless Intel in it's infinite wisdom is making dual-core 32-bit processors.

Good points. Unfortunately, you are confused since Lori Drew didn't send the famous "the world would be better without you" message. In fact, she didn't: 1) create the account 2) send a majority of the messages 3) "tell" her to kill herself. All of those were done by Ashley Grills, also an adult. Incidentally, the Meier family does NOT hold her responsible.... Fascinating, isn't it? So actually, no good points. Charging the wrong person because of public pressure is never a good thing. If this is true, then you're absolutely correct, and she should not be charged with any sort of homicide. However, she should still be charged with child abuse (yes, emotional abuse still counts abuse in American courts). Either way, this woman still needs to be given a long time in a cell to think about the consequences of emotional manipulation.

I took control of the router when I was 16 and dad's never had a snowball's chance of getting it back. I did the same when I was 14-ish - except that was the day we got high-speed internet. So really they never had control of the router.

  14. Local Machine Software-Based Trackers on Which Lost/Stolen Laptop Trackers Do You Like? · · Score: 1

I feel that software-based trackers are not a viable solution. If the thief is computer-competant or knows someone who is, it'd be quite easy for them to just wipe the drive and go from there and BIOS passwords are easily worked around by removing the CMOS battery. I think the only REAL fool proof solution is either a) on-board (so that it can't be removed by thieves) GPS hardware with unique hard-coded 'addresses'. or b) don't buy a laptop - they're a pain in the ass anyways.
