Normal radio sucks, and companies like XM and Sirus decided to change that and create something new. Radio with out commercials, yes it cost a little bit but you do not have to listen to dumb ass commercials. Well currently satellite internet sucks, but that does not mean a company can not invest money into improving satellite internet (increase speeds) like XM and Sirus did for radio. If internet prices go up big spenders like Microsoft, Google, Blizzard, HP, EA, Sun, Adobe, etc (companies that provide internet based content) could team up and start doing research to fix the problem. Will they be able to lay the millions of miles of new fiber...no, but 30 years ago wireless phones were nearly unheard of. Now days everyone has them. All it takes is time and money to corn hole a large company.

  3. Good on FCC Weighs Net Access Charge Decision · · Score: 3, Insightful

You may think this is a bad thing because the cost of internet service may go up. However if companies like Sprint/Nextel have to pay more for the use of AT&Ts' lines maybe this cost will either put them out of business (not the goal of my post) or give them the boost to design new technology and make the market more competitive.

In essence Sprint is just a reseller of at&ts' product. Let them come out with their own product to compete.

I am in no way picking on sprint. I am just saying a little competition in this area is a good thing. Maybe more fiber being laid, better service, higher speeds, and new technology will come of this. OR we could all get corn holed by higher prices.

Funny that is what the OS is supposed to do also. But now they come with stuff built in. Maybe if the BIOS was left alone and the OS was fixed to do just what it was supposed to do and not worry about the rest of the crap.

It does not matter if I run Linux, or Windows they both start with crap running in the background. A normal user has no clue what is running. Why not when you install the OS you just ask "Do you want a Firewall? Do you want a Server? Do you want to update your system time over the internet? Do you want to back your computer up every night" It is like most systems just install bloat ware because they *think* normal users want this stuff. Or it provides security. Well write the OS correctly where you do not specifically need a firewall or anti virus, or updates every Tuesday.

Sorry got on a rant. I am just saying Let the Bios do its job...boot the system. Let the OS do its job, Schedule task, manage memory, and provide access to hardware.

The cameras are in public places. Also it is illegal to search your home, car, etc without a warrant. With all that aside how is this any different then a cop on every street corner? Or do you not enjoy the having law enforcement on a street corner in a rough downtown area? What this system does is it spots patterns or suspicious behavior and alerts police. It is no different if a 70 year old grandma looks out her kitchen window and sees a strange man in her neighbors yard wearing a mask. The grandma would then call the police, so does this thing. The police then have the responsibility to investigate and determine if a crime was committed. This system does not stop you from driving around the same block multiple times. If a cop were to see the same car do circle a block 6 times he would probably stop the car also. All the driver has to do is say "I am waiting to pick up my friend". The system just puts an eye witness on every corner. Do you not want an eye witness to help you out if you were ever in a car wreck or mugged? Or is that eye witness looking at you violating your rights?
