That story doesn't explain why one day I could view Amazon prime videos and the next day I couldn't. If I weren't so honest, I'd consider just saying FU and start pirating like so many suggest. Instead I'll probably go out and buy a new BR player that supports their DRM scheme. I know one thing for sure though, I won't be ordering it through Amazon after this dick move.
BTW, anybody know of BR player that supports the 4TB drives that I ripped all my DVDs too?
But even the motto of the state he was elected to serve spells it out...."Audemus jura nostra defendere" - We Dare Defend Our Rights, and here he is wanting to surrender everyones to the corporate overlords.
Simple: limit regulation to the strict protection of private property rights.
So the governemnt's job is to ensure that everyone has private property to protect? Wouldn't be a democracy, that is for sure. Unless, of course, you are one of those who believe only those who have property to protect should have a right to vote.
Even if the solution is inferior, I've always favored investing in solutions that don't require lock in. If VMware fails, it is their own fault for not providing their users freedom.
How can states enforce this against sellers with no financial interest in the state? If the out of state seller doesn't pay, what recourse is there?
If the seller receives income from individuals in a particular state then the seller has a financial interest in that particular state. Maybe logs demonstrating that you refused to accept funds from individuals residing in states whose laws you disagree with would help in you defense?
If the people of California, through their duly elected representives, have decided to institute an "internet tax" then an "internet tax" there shall be. Those who try to work around the "people's will" should face the hardest penalties.
unless the contract stipulates you can't sell other manufacturer's phones.
Isn't that the essence of the very problem here? If Apple's contract state you must sell X amount of Apple phones, then isn't that an implicite stipulation that you can not sell phones from other manufacturers unless you can meet X?
Maybe if more people heard them more people would show up to listen to them? The only assholes here are those expecting to paid for playing way out of copyright music here.
Seriously wondering here, what system do you propose that would enable cross traffic to procede? Think about this for a minute, if you don't ever stop how in the world are the people who would get in your way ever to get to go?
And possibly why slavery lasted so long in the US. Eventually it was force that brought the voting public to see logic and reasoning.
I haven't spent a penny on software for years. For good hardware I have spent many a decent penny.
That would lean me towards purchasing one, my TV and current BR player won't read such large drives.
Will this Roku allow me to plug in my 4TB portable hard drives to them and allow me to view the content that I purchased and ripped to them?

This 50 something year old say FU Mike, and facebook and google too. You are welcome to your big brother future, but leave the rest of us out of it.
How else do you propose that the innocent be protected from distracted drivers?
Let me end this right now. It's unregulateable.
Government: "Pay your taxes or go to jail".
Citizen: "All I have are these bitcoins".
bitcoin isnt a popularity contest, its an open distributed currency that was originally created to get away from the current system.
Okay, so how do you get those tied into one of the "current systems" to buy into bitcoin? There has to be some incentive for them afterall.

Good luck suing alibaba, which is the world's largest internet retailer.
Never heard of them, most not sell much in the US.

You don't get to decide which laws you will obey and which ones you will ignore based on your personal opinion
Law that are obeyed never get changed.

There are alway costs associated with doing business.

All it takes is $$, or $$$, or $$$$, or maybe even $$$$$ or $$$$$$. With enough money you can run your own fiber.
I like rye bread, but stores still offer other varieties. Choice is good.
Too many people hate on Obama for him to accomplish much.

I've never had a problem with X on open source hardware. Only closed sourced shit causes problems.
No problems here with Intel and rare problems with AMD chips. Maybe you are tied to a company that doesn't like openness?
