Stay the fuck away from IT/Compsci if you can. It's boring work with poor pay and limited job opportunities if you don't live near a major 1st-world city. Ask me how I know.
It isn't? I'd have thought it was. But anyways, I don't see how that's related. The planet has a carrying capacity and as we get closer to it (or further exceed it), more work will be required by each individual just to feed oneself (even regardless of the economic system involved). The current rate of change has nothing to do with it.
I thought the solution was greater government transparency, publicly funded election campaigns, and having any politician who accepts any "lobbying" charged for what they did - that is, treason.
The more people you have the less likely you'll have another Einstein, because he'll be too busy trying to feed himself and not die of the liquid shits to work on theoretical physics problems to get you your FTL spaceship.
With fewer people individuals might use more energy just because there is less demand and it would therefore be cheaper.
I'm not sure it was intentional but the anime Big O portrays this. Paradigm City (which for all intents and purposes is "the world") appears to be relatively sparsely populated; people drive land yachts bigger than '50s cars, make buildings huge, opulent and energy-intensive just because they can, their whole society seems to have a surplus of energy and space and they find ways to use it up.
The old Toyota T100, Pickup (Hilux) and 4runner are the best trucks...period. My dream truck is a twin-cab medium bed solid axle Hilux with the 4cyl turbo diesel. FJs are similar (although much taller) but not available on the US market.
I actually cover a magnet with saran wrap and run it over my car's lug nuts to remove any metal shavings that might be on there (the nuts themselves, I blow out with compressed air). This would be a good practice to follow on the ISS.
Amazon tried this a few years ago and when customers found out they threw a shitfit.
And whatever happened to Do No Evil? I hope Amazon gives 'em hell over it, even they didn't bother to patent this and they patented the one-click purchase.
I'd rather lead by example, somebody's gotta pay taxes right? Besides the work/payoff balance is terrible until you get well into the 6-digits per year range. My dad does it with very middle-class amounts of money and I'm starting to think he enjoys paperwork.
So both the democrats and the republicans can bite my ass. They both get their power from curried favor from rent-seeking assholes who want pet tax breaks.
Such as yourself?
Throw out the whole tax code, eliminate the IRS and all income taxes, and implement a national consumption tax at the point-of-sale with a prebate to the poor. Then if you get $10/hr, and work 40 hours, you get a check for $400 with no deductions.
Oh sorry it couldn't be, you're a kind-hearted gentlemen who wants to implement an inherently regressive tax system because you were only personally taking in over 1/3rd of your company's gross profits.
From context the GP was clearly talking about religion (what do you call people of the Jewish faith (but not necessarily ethnicity) if not Jews?)
You on the other hand are a Jewish supremacist, and your post is probably not sending the message you intended...

He's doing a good job of filling the Kim Jong-Il shaped hole in our hearts.
Oh man I Poe'd everyone...

Thanks for explaining the joke -_-
I agree, don't take my sarcasm so seriously!
Oh jeez I hate this argument.

Yet another problem that could have been solved by switching from income taxes to sales taxes! /libertarian
Der brungn der wurms!

Welcome to post-capitalism, our club is growing fast!
...any tool that wouldn't break while being made of plastic or weak sintered metal. And the fumes should make things interesting.

I wonder if they cross-drill the toothbrushes for lightness before sending them up there.

The scientist in me says they likely have some merit but the cynic in me says they're the stupid corporate fad of the moment.
This is great, break out the popcorn!

But then they used a computer to talk about it so they're hackers!!!1one!

You want to talk about leaving Iraq? Well, you're a cut-and-run coward who hates America.
Haven't you heard the news from this year's RNC? Bu- uh, Obama's wars were a TERRIBLE idea and never should have been started.
