I stand by what I said. Energy costs money, the only way it will get significantly cheaper is with fusion power, and the only way fusion power will be relevant to large aircraft is with an unprecedented and unforeseen radical breakthrough in energy storage.
You joke but a lot of developers of cryptography/anonymity software are given a hard time at every TSA checkpoint - most famously, Moxie Marlinspike who had all his electronics confiscated.
And even so, he's arguing for chaotic anarchy over strict organization when it has no bearing on the user experience. Look at all the stuff my package manager is doing OH NOES!
For reasons that scientists have not conclusively determined, women are happier than men
Spoilers: It's the difficulty of getting laid. A woman only has to ask "Sex?"
Let's see...nope still doesn't work out. This confirms that I'm horribly underpaid.

When the first plane flew it didn't use an unprecedented amount of energy by commercial transport standards.
I hope there's something modern to make it much more powerful so it will go nearly twice as fast and reach hypersonic speeds.
Nowhere near hypersonic.
Supersonic but not hypersonic.
Development on such equipment could easily lead to civilian hypersonic aircraft
LOLOLOLOLOL
Civilian hypersonic flight will never, ever be economical. Not even supersonic flight, probably.
The only civilian hypersonic aircraft that might ever exist is a "toy fighter jet" for the ultra-stupendous-hyper-rich of the future.
Yeah, you didn't *see* it...but it's there
At least it wasn't the Mainstream Anonymity System Totally Untraceable Routing Backers Association TOR
How curious, I wonder why the cryptographers empowering the public get hassled and the ones working for The Man don't...
I remember it was on arrival so it likely was the CBP rather than the TSA in that case.
Are you a lady because I'm well-endowed with science :D

That's great but you posted it under the wrong article.
They are a bitch to corporate interests, it's really too bad.
Yep but there won't be another Linux renaissance this time because there's no good noob-friendly distro to accept the refugees.
This story was the most popular on CNN yesterday :-(
I just slapped MATE desktop on my laptop after upgrading from Lucid to Precise and kept on going like nothing happened.
It does boot a bit slower now though and I had to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox to keep it from running slow and laggy.

Between Facebook, Google and the NSA this database already exists.
The Internet & Purchase Background Checker will be integrated into the Resume Keyword Checker to pre-screen applicants.
Oh you live in a fascist mini-dictatorship. Shoulda thought of who could have a say in what you can do on your property beforehand.
But here's another idea, a weighted plastic cord cover painted yellow with black stripes.
I should have thought of this!
Not me. I don't have a problem with mystery meats in general, I have a problem with deceptive marketing.
