    Indeed, hitting these numbers with an ICE is going to be a major challenge. The ~3x better efficiency of an EV drivetrain should be able to do it easily in MPGe though.

    Actually you're both right.

    If you don't understand science you won't make a good engineer.

    And there are good engineers who are creationists.

    They understand science but they compartmentalize it away from their creationism. Science is just an on-the-job tool to them. Pretty crazy.

  7. I think it would be better if they could let go of the "every sperm is sacred"* crap. Better than accepting evolution, in fact. I would approve making them pro-contraception and anti-evolution in a heartbeat. Evolution denialism is a first-world problem.

    *This isn't their actual argument against contraception. It's far, far more stupid.

    On a physical level no faith is required, your brain is hardwired to trust your perception and memory unless it's horribly broken.

    Yes sanity is to accept faith in one's perception and memory, I'd say that's the core basis of sanity. What sane being recalls something to the best of their memory and thinks "This memory I have is most likely inaccurate?"

    Sure, if you redefine creationism, but the accepted meaning of the word right now means the belief that creatures were literally willed into being by a deity (presumably with an I Dream of Jeannie pop-in effect) rather than evolving from lower lifeforms.

    Went to a Subway once, saw that they had a "seafood special" or something like that, but it didn't say what kind of fish.

    I asked the woman who worked there, she said it was crab.

    Now there are two kinds of crab, the real crab which is bloody expensive, and the assorted marine mystery meat w/ flavoring concoction that is supposed to pass for crab.

    I looked at the prices and it cost less than the chicken I was thinking of getting so I know it was the latter.

    Started a job where I would eventually need to do Linux sysadmin, I'd only started fooling around with Linux at home shortly before. I took an introductory course but am self-taught otherwise. Now all my computers except my gaming PC run GNU/Linux - including my phone.
