Yep this is a point on which it is fair to say that America is no better.
The only safe way to take devices there is to wipe your devices clean (an uncertain and damaging act on flash storage) and carry a hard drive with a deniable hidden encrypted partition (including duress key to unlock a decoy partition) containing backups of the devices. Or store the backup online (connecting with an anti-MITM system and using proper encryption of course, that means ONLY YOU have the key and there is no "recovery" option) if you have a shit-ton of bandwidth and time.
Even then they may take your hardware and do who-knows-what to it, as happened to Moxie Marlinspike's phone. Or you may just not get it back at all.
Let me put it this way: Your understanding of plant biology is correct, but everything you know about global warming appears to be horribly, horribly misinformed.
Well it could be natural gas, which is far cleaner-burning but has its own problems in extraction, but it will probably be coal because it's super-duper-cheap, easily available, and oddly enough the NIMBYs prefer to be showered with tiny particles of radioactive material than to have big blocks of it safely contained.
Yep like Burt Rutan. An otherwise intelligent man who has become a leader in climate denialism because of his ideology.
But seriously at some point, libertarians are either going to need to leave Earth and form their own space-societies or accept the fact that they must at least share the planet with other people.
Holy shit, this is one of the dumbest things I've ever read, almost certainly the dumbest thing I've ever read on Slashdot. I don't even know where to start, it's packed so densely with concentrated stupid T_T
I'm not sure how far back the story of Batman's martial arts training originated, but it was portrayed much like it was seen in the recent movie in the '90s Batman: Animated Series cartoon. And AFAIK he's always had martial arts skills and I don't think we're supposed to assume he was born with them.
I think WP8's gonna flop. They're selling so bad they make the N900 and N9 look like mass market hot-sellers. Even I was surprised at how spectacularly WP8 has failed.
Watch Tartakovsky's Clone Wars miniseries. It's better than the prequels and you get to see Grievous fighting like a badass instead of flailing his swords threateningly just minutes before he's killed.

The Zuckerberg Tax

Oh jeez do I have to spell this out for you? If you make $20k a year and have to spend $10k of it on essential stuff like food, say there's a flat 20% sales tax, you'll be paying $2k in sales taxes, or 10% of your annual income, on top of having to spend about half of it on basic first-world survival stuff.
Zuckerberg needs the same basic stuff to survive (let's assume slaughtering a wild chicken costs roughly the same as buying one from Wal-Mart once it hits the table, and let's assume that being chauffeured around in a Maybach burns the same energy as huffing it everywhere) but makes about a jillion dollars a year and his sales tax could be as little as 0.000001% of his annual income. How is that not regressive?
I wouldn't want littering to be legalized, if anything most countries are too lenient on it, but in Singapore you can easily rack up 4-digit fines for accidentally dropping a gum wrapper. I also won't call a country a shithole for not having full Portugal-style drug legalization, but the death penalty for trafficking is completely insane.
One where you won't get the death penalty for drug trafficking, where you don't have to get a permit to protest, where you won't get your ass fined off for minor littering, and where there is freedom of religion for starters?
Look at it this way, if you save your oil for later, then in the far future the USA could be #1 in space! With space McDonalds and space fighter planes doing space airshows (spaceshows?) and fuckin' space fireworks! You want the Chinese laughing at you from space with their...space paper dragon parades?

What will we do with super-intelligent mice?

It weighs less than everybody's car, unless you have an S1 Elise or some little open-wheeled track toy like a Seven clone, Ariel Atom or KTM X-bow...
Only 160kg less than mine though B-)
a mild strain injury to my right wrist/hand (from DIY).
Try getting someone else to do it, perhaps hire a professional if you don't have a friend who would be willing to help. Or at least be more gentle :-P

LOL you don't even try to answer your own questions, do you Mr. Skeptic?

Obsessive Apple fanboy + subscription + other Apple fanboys with mod points = copypasta post defending Apple getting modded up.
I'd be surprised if the US government wasn't already monitoring the sale of these.

Singapore doesn't offer full religious freedom:

Most countries do, so that's a big negative point.
Or saw a census taker on their doorstep. I ain't goin' to no FEMA concentration camp!!!1one
Chrome doesn't send any extra info to Google. Like many other browsers it sends search queries as you type them to use search autocomplete features.
Psychonauts is available DRM-free on GoG so maybe they'll give that a shot.
I've played both, both are good games, there's not such a vast difference between them.
Oh it's still an environmental problem, but most of it is conveniently out of plain sight:

That fracking stuff looks pretty questionable too. Pumping the ground full of mystery sauce...

There is one remaining issue of "environmentalist" obstructionism. I use quotes, because these people are damaging the environment, not protecting it.
This is true. If you oppose nuclear, a coal plant will be built in its place, which is far, far more dirty and dangerous.
