I, for one, like printed manuals. I am also realistic enough to understand the appeal of pdf's as documentation to publishers. Much of the documentation being supplied in pdf format now runs to hundreds of pages. They are a considerable pain to print out if you desire printed documents. Most appear to be more concerned with 'stylish', 'book-like' page layout than with the efficent presentation of information. When I am forced to print-out over three hundred pages, I don't want those pages to contain a minimum of inforamtion and huge amounts of white space for aesthetic purposes only. If you are going to make me print the documentation (that I feel shuld have come with the product in the first place), at least have some consideration for my time and resources. Don't make me print a 300 page manual to get 75 pages of information.

Try Berkeley Extension, they have a good Comp/Sci program and offer quite a few distance learning courses over the web.
