    The device can do a bunch of things, it's actually fairly limited as an AP. In this case she was using the device as device to enable her to send the audio output of iTunes to something else, such as a stereo or a pair of powered speakers.     um.. Apple actually already offers that. I think android might was well also. Your iPhone/iPad support a keyboard over BT, the mouse is dead, and then outputs the video over an AppleTV.

    I was about to reply that I found it "very suspicious that the article omits ios... " then I reliezed your article doesn't either. It just includes a quote from another article; http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703806304576242923804770968.html which explains why there were looking, not what they looked at. The iOS version simply was not examined for this test. Most likly because an iOS app is not privileged to the pivata data in question. That whole walled garden thing.

    First let me say, I personally do not agreeing with this argument, but I understand the rational. Your example is not is not in-congruent with the "everyone the same under the law" ideal... (assuming you believe in capitalism.) -trailer park moms with a few ounces of pot does not profile much to the community and society, she does contribute to illegal trade. -cocaine using prostitute beating hedge fund manager directly trades large amount funds to generate trade directly benefiting his community with business development and growth creating jobs and other benefits to the community. He does contribute a little to illegal trade as well, and beats up criminals attempting to trade illicit services. weighted out, percent of good/bad, the trailer park mom is doing much more damage to the community, per unit of effect on the community.

    Also useful as a computer replacement for those who are tech-competent, since well the input system is superior, you can get a lot more software at lower prices then a PC, and in this day and age raw processing power is all done on backed servers anyhow.

    sure, iPad is useful for things like writing e-mail, surfing the web, watching youtube, they are much more portable them a notebook so they are effective 'on the go' e-mail or SSHing into a machine for some light terminal work, you can do video conferencing via facetime in HD, display maps, you can read papers and books, draw (fun stuff, not serious stuff, but then again how many of us are graphic designers AND design when are not at work at a desktop?) make notes/lists about thing, do you banking, trade stocks, go on slashdot. There are games for them ofcourse. The fun ever ends.

    Um, you need to stop watching fuax news... -There were apps for iPad when it first came out, (the dev kit included a simulator before launch so some apps had full iPad compatibility launch day.) -If you bought a new car the obometer would not read 0. It would a couple miles on it. (they need to drive it from the factory onto a train, from the train to the truck, from the truck to it's space on the lot. Usually you'd want to test drive it before buying too. 7 miles is not 0. -You can not open a bank account with $0. Most banks require at lest $100 to start a new account.

    No dude, gnasher719 had it pretty much right. The record companies were mad at Apple's market dominance, Steve Jobs's "public letter," and the general pressure Apple was putting on them to DRM-free the music. A couple companies let Apple DRM-free their music as a "trial." Then the record companies gave Amazon a preferable deal (no DRM) to try to reduce Apple's power over them. I bet they are loving that decision now. The interesting part of it all is that I know Apple is contractually obligated to not allow multiple downloads the same file without charging for each download. (They have been in negotiation for 2 years now to change that.) I imagine Amazon must have the same contract which leads me to believe that even the courts buy the ,"upload your own files at your own risk," their MP3 store must be violating the multiple download clause.

    you can add and remove your DC batteries in-line without taking down your systems. battery failure would not necessary take down your systems.
