In case of chess, well an obvious drawback to this approach is during the end game, where the number of possible moves will be limited and choosing the 5th best move out of say 10 possible moves may not be as computationally "smart" as choosing 5th best move among 1000 possible moves!
Lets say that the computer has to make its move and it can make one of a billion moves. I would think that ranking the billion moves and making the nth best move consistently would make the AI smart, but not smart enough to be overwhelming.
Also there would be consistency in the intelligence of computer!
The value of n, can be chosen according to the difficulty setting of the user.

Are you saying that all the models that exist today are WRONG? Are you talking about some particular model being wrong?

Are you saying that every model that exists today to predict risks/gains is accurate?
From a scientific point of view, It is possible to have models that predict risk/gains to a degree of accuracy which can be well defined. Just because things have gone wrong, it does not mean that models can never be right!! There could be hundred reason, people could have misused the models, some of the models might have been wrong (or not applicable) for certain scenarios.
I think it was a good movie overall. However, I think some of plots were loose. For eg-> Dent threatening to kill Gordon's son. I dont really see why anybody would do that? He did his duty by saving Dent over his Girl friend.
Did any other country(like china, japan) find evidence of US having landed in moon? I was just wondering about conspiracy theory that US never landed on moon.
I think this opens up endless possibilities. Some of them good, some of they may not be encouraging....

person shares the same gene sequence as another person in the world.
For example if a person shares the same gene (such as Neuron
characteristic ) as Einstein he could be as intelligent as he is. This
conclusion could be used as a more important measure of intelligence
quantifier rather than Tests like GRE/SAT etc. It need not be just for
intelligence, it could be for anyother characteristic, such as
bravery, risk taking attitude etc. DNA could be the "First Liner" in
your resume!
2) It could be an important characteristic in choosing partner. For
eg: If you share the same gene sequence for some disease.... u will
know that your kid will get it for sure. Also women/men may choose to
marry a person if he/she has a positive gene. Like some genes may be a
turn on to certain people.
3) Criminal traits could be narrowed down and watched!
4) Wife having a conversation to husband " Your gene shows that you
have high chance of getting cholestrol, dont eat cheese so much! "
5) Another instance " Hubby, we both have great XYZ genes(gene good in
"communication") but not so great ABC gene (gene good in
"Logic/Analysis", I think our son should get into communications

I dont think see how this is true. At&t has more than 50% market share and I am not sure if all the companies are in some sort of a collusion. There is corruption or lobbying in every kind of industry and cellphone industry may have more of it. Name one industry and I can tell you some example of lobbying or some way it has influenced political decision making, be it Enron, or haliburton, chevron texaco or At&t.
Corruption in cell phone industry have direct influence on consumers, unlike say Haliburton, that is the reason why it has probably got some attention.
