I'm not saying mac software is bad, i'm just saying using it should be a choice. The same as it should be a choice whether or not to install Windows Media Player, Internet Explorer etc.
Since none of them are, it means if you use windows, have an iPod and browse the web with Firefox, you end up with three browsers on your machine.
It's bad enough iPods needing iTunes, now iTunes "need" Safari. Soon you'll need the entire contents of Mac OSX on your computer just to listen to music.
Are they using proprietary encryption software? Because I suppose that takes away all chance of accessing them on any computer not running windows (as in: "they chose the drives for their excellent support for windows vista).
I'm also annoyed (as I always am with things like this) that they are going to destroy the drives as opposed to Zeroing them out and selling them second hand.
