This has been a pretty well know fact in the tech community. the mobile carriers have been overcharging everybody. almost 7 to 10 years back India had one of the most expensive mobile communication, but for the last 2 years it has been one of the cheapest areas, while this process of cost cutting was under way a rally was called for networks providing free SMSs always. The SMS text is sent in just the connectivity with the carrier tower connectivity signaling. No special protocol has to be envoked nor any special services to be provided. So the burden on the network is less than nominal.

though the M$ site is huge... it is transforming slowly and it preferentially offers users the opportunity to view the site either with silerlight or stick with original view , just like a few months back silverlight was offered for download preferentially, and then it was an update with windows vista... in due course SL will be do it like all other ventures being pushed by M$
Firstly there are a whole lot of applications that can be thought of which would be able to use this... for example dynamic data mining like image search with face recognition or virtualisation like virtaulisation of the entire human body to perform heart surgery in virtual environment as an learning experience for budding surgeons, also run time perspective rendering of videos, etc. such applications can be written with current programming capabilities. I don't doubt that they will be very crude and also inconsidered of time and space complexities optimisation. the optimisation cud be achieved later when paralleling programming evolves, and global standardisations are made and conventions set for programming as well as architecture design n development.
wel guys, while most of us always bickering abt M$ 's stupid policies n its endless bugs in software, n all the stuff it doesnt do right....they do do a lot of R&D....and atleast in this case they had actually given the fundamental platform for this kind of products....
This was an attack by Iran and korea's nuclear program........ we will smoke them out!! we will bring these miscreants to justice and we will not allow these gas bag weapons of mass destruction to be left in these unstable places....... action must be taken.......lets deploy the army to these countries imediately.......
