    Most synchrotron radiation sources aren't 'synchrotrons' they are electron storage rings, but its widely accepted in the user community that they're known as synchrotrons.

    The UK has several large entrenched supermarkets (I think Walmart now owns one of them, ASDA) but the Germans (Aldi and Liddel) have been making quite large inroads into the UK market.

    I always thought that there was a lower limit imposed on photon wavelength (and hence an upper limit on frequency) due to a sufficiently high energy photon being able to have enough mass to create its own black hole and fall in (at the plank length?). Although that could all be just rubbish.... (IAAP)
