Ummm. you underestimate out arrogance and lack of perception of the outside world's opinion.
We are sick of everyone else not using the imperial system (who's creators even dropped it!) Not of people complaining we use a non-SI system. We could care less about what everyone else thinks. That's why we have n
I don't own the tapes, DVDs, Blu-Rays or any downloaded... so, I worship at the altar less than most here. That doesn't mean the reference isn't painfully obvious, and more appropriate than a fantasy one.
I'm not sure I agree. It's playable, but the design ideas were failures, and I don't think they could have figured that out without a sizeable outside view.
Honestly, if they fixed the auction system, and made the quests less obnoxious, it'd be playable.
I stated my previous two phones, which were android, crashed more than my windows phone. I never said it was the OS, in fact, when I did finally assign blame, I placed it on Samsung.
It was a point to emphasize the importance of hardware/manufacturer quality and the fact that something ostensibly good (such as android) can have problems on crap hardware (or if the manufacturer has crap drivers).
I have a win phone 7, and it (never in 8 months) has crashed less than my android phones did (once every month or two), and has had no issues requiring a reboot (other than running out of battery) vs the androids which required a reboot every two weeks to one month. Battery life is the same. Mind you it's an HTC, and the androids were Samsung. Still, that kind of "windows BSODs" Crap really went out with the 90s unless you buy crap hardware, in which case, no OS will save you.
Actually, we only have two real cable providers, plus two satellite providers. There's a third cable provider, but it's more of a lamprey and TW is the shark.
I guess there's a fiber company here two. But regarding cable/fiber, we have only one of the Big Bad 3 (TW, Comcast, Verizon are what I call the Big Bad 3).
Most other cities of 1M+ also seem to have at least two cable providers, and both satellite companies. I wonder why where I live is so different.
I felt they were being proactive. Rather than comparing the competition, I'd look at their previous history, which has always been good and considerate (i.e. I say "I'll install my own damn cable box" and they say "ok, then we'll waive the installation fee, when is a good time to drop it off?").
The competition overloads their subscribers (or under-purchases bandwidth/underdevelops infrastructure) in the case of internet. And their cable goes out as often as sateliite (as often as we have big storms), but unlike satellite, the circumstances aren't predictable.
My cable company recently lowered the price of my plan (non contract) and called me to tell me they had done so. I can see them doing this again in the future, if their costs go down. They are one of the more expensive in the city, but it seems they are actually spending the money on customer service and a decent infrastructure, unlike Time Warner.
That's a good point, the MMOs really are different games.
But as "members of the title", I think 11 did more harm to the brand than 14. I *could* enjoy 14 if I didn't foucs on the things I tend to focus on. I couldn't enjoy 11 past level 18 or 19.
And, yes, FF13 probably tarnished the brand more than anything else.
Linux itself wasn't used for a thesis or for grade was it?
Parts of the kernel might have started that way, but as a whole, wasn't it just a project for self-education, fun, and production of a more useful too than what was otherwise available?
That seems silly. When I worked in a bioinformatics group as an undergrad, we use a *LOT* of software that was only used inside of a university, partially because the kind of research it targeted wasn't necessarily popular in commercial areas yet, and some because what we used was OSS and many commercial organizations preferred closed sourced alternatives (sometimes for speed optimizations, sometimes for support reasons).
Maybe you should define your criteria as widespread use in the context of the target field, rather than outside of a university?
That being said, I think a lot of it either directly or indirectly (through a third party reimplementation), does make it out.
I thought 2012 was to be the year of Nemesis on the desktop (and everything else) as it smashes into the earth?

I'm not obsessed with Star Wars, it's just in a tech-setting reference, I don't believe WoW is appropriate.

Seriously, flying city... technology... and you think of Dalaran?
*pulls out a light saber*
Geek card. Now.
Oh. The eggs have ripened.
Wait a minute... eggs don't ripen. EGGS DON'T RIPEN!

I have a friend who's only other choice than TW is Comcast, so, no, not redundant.
I've had horrible experience with their customer service, and most few people I've known with their wire service have not much positive to say.
That's the other thing, many of these companies are very location dependent. I've heard of areas where TW is great, just not the city I live in.
Reading Comprehension: EPIC FAIL.

I think by "people" they mean social networking.
Why does MS seem to think only social networking obsessives use their phones?

Guess I'm luck to have one of the few decent cable companies in the US.
Hmmm. I might.

Mine recently lowered some of their prices, and contacted me to tell me that my service price was lowered. So... I think mine might do this again.
3 my cable company. So glad I'm not stuck in a Time-Warner only region of the city.

Hell. This pretty much describes me sober.

I'm repulsed by it myself, but it could just be my polarity.
That is to say, the real Top Gear (UK), not any of the other cheap imitations.
6 GB consumer boards have been around for about as long as Intel's i7 series of processors (2 or 3 years)?
But, yeah, that's pretty inexpensive.
As low as profitable, not as possible. As low as possible is break-even, and that certainly doesn't happen
