  1. Re:US jury system does it again on Hans Reiser Guilty of First Degree Murder · · Score: 1

I take out BOTH my seats and hose down the inside. I have to remove the subwoofer and AMP so I don't damage them. I found it is even better then vacuuming since the floor in my truck is one solid rubber mat and unlike a car or carpeted vehicle the floors do not recess so that the water can't fill the floor. It all flows easily out the door. Of course I am not planning on killing anyone and I do put both seats back in when I am done.

  2. Once a fan, now, no longer on Metallica May Follow In Footsteps of Radiohead, NIN · · Score: 1

Back in the day, It started on a Sunday afternoon I was about 13(1993) and I heard Metallica for the first time. Was instantly hooked on Enter Sandman. I became a Metallica fan. Wasn't able to buy the albums cause of my parents. So, i managed to get them from friends. I had a long an good relationship with Metallica all the way through HS and even a few years after HS(CO '98) then in 2000 when they pulled their shite with Napster; I d/Led ALL the albums they currently had out(Yeah even the "SELL OUT" albums LOAD and RE-LOAD) so, I think at the time was 8 albums in all. Burned them and stored them away, i still have them in storage and they do work. NEVER again will I listen to or buy another Metallica song/album again! They attacked the internet, p2p, computers, etc which means they attacked me personally. FSCK METALLICA!!!

  3. Unlock the DRM on MSN Music DRM Servers Going Dark In September · · Score: 1

I have not seen this through the thread posts yet, BUT couldn't M$ go ahead and start unlocking all that music? Simply have a small prog that you can run on the comp that checks the customer's acct and music files to verify that they paid for it all and then unlock the music? I am not a programmer and don't really know how DRM functions, but I see this as a feesable solution.

I agree. *give M$ gun* *places M$ foot in front of barrel* Now, I am going to wait for this site to become a pirate haven. As for the first comment of the entire news story: I used to be "scared" into jail time when I was a young teen, but now I'll say "wait a sec." and then go look it up. Now, whether I call BS or not depends on what I find.

I don't own an iPod nor do I D/L several GB a month.(Maybe a few copies of Linux) Even though this will not affect me, it pisses me off enough to drop them and save my 130$/mo. DVR/HBO,SHOWTIME/HSI Turbo(10down/1up) They will try their best too keep me. I say nay nay and I am standing up for what I believe in. Who else on TWC is cancelling? As soon as I get home from work here I will be on my way to becoming TWC free. I have already done it with M$, now it is TWCs turn.

  7. Re:Cool on Recording Music Without the Recording Industry · · Score: 1

    1. That is a bit of a stretch as posted elsewhere 2. He doesn't have to rely on a hard core base of paying fans. You fail to realize he doesn't leave the door open at converts cause that is where he makes most of his money. People want to be in the house with you so they WILL pay. Whether you burn or buy, you may get pissed, but then hey go burn the next record he comes out with. He has several bands (not sure the count) under his label "FireWalk Records" and they are able to pay their bills and then some. He does help out his bands by setting up concerts for them and booking several of them for one venue as well.

  8. Re:Cool on Recording Music Without the Recording Industry · · Score: 2, Interesting

I don't see why anyone would need this RPM thing. I am not bashing it, only questioning it, so put the flame throwers down, NOW! I ask because my brother is a professional musician. He owns his OWN label so getting recordings done, CDs pressed, etc. it easy for him. Back when it was just him he was able to do the same thing with basic stuff. He sells his music and he also gives it away for free on a burned disc, not a pressed one, BUT STILL. Even in his label contracts it tells the artists that their music WILL BE pirated, ripped and made to MP3s and they are NOT allowed to go after anyone infringing, because the contract says the consumer is not, especially when labeled on the inside cover of every CD from his label says, "Music is free, so feel free to rip, burn and distrubute this CD. Other formats like MP3 are welcome too." Simply said, he has made his fortunes by giving away his musics.

Performance based....in the end I really had no choice, but I was able to make suggestions to the dept manager.
I started people on a flat rate for the 90day trial and after that, based on performance, determined their raise. Most I ever pushed someone was from the standard starting of 25K to 56K more then doubled this kids salary..needles to say he was shocked and he did fall out of his chair.

  11. Re:Nice initiative but... on RIAA-fighting Maine Law Professor Speaks Out · · Score: 1

eh, I guess you could relate it to that. Although, living here in Dallas, TX(TX itself apparently the medical student capitol of the US,) I like the 5th-7th year students who do my checkups and other routine bodily maintenance. They seem to pay more attention in general and IMHO, that makes them far superior to an older DR who just smiles and nods. So, maybe a law student is the same way? Perhaps this may follow most professions. I have hired some IT guys that have had formal education(University Degree) and Certifications that make them look like the star employee. Yet, I have hired kids with A+ Certs(OR claim they can pass the A+) that can out perform the well educated.
