Seriously!? How does paying a fine fix anything? What's there to even fix? I hope these ridiculous fines go to at least the national debt.

The COPPA is a joke. 30,000 Underage kids violated? Yeah right... they were just playing video games. The FTC says the COPPA is necessary and makes people give them money when they violate one of their "rules". Wake up parents, the world is, and always has been a dangerous place. Live with it, learn about it, and do what you can to protect your family. The FTC is just another group in the way of progress and stealing from people because the law is only ever on their side. geh.....

Americans are so sue happy. Is this only a problem in the US or is it also in Japan? Perhaps Nintendo will come out with an amazing VR game machine, but not sell it in the US for fear of being sued somehow. Makes me sick. So sick, that I blame U.S. Court system for allowing this sort of nonsense. Perhaps they need to be sued for my outrage that has lead to depression and makes it so I can't work for a living anymore. What's the deal with every gaming company being sued?!

  4. Windows 7 Gamers Edition on Performance Tests Show Early Windows 7 Build Beats Vista · · Score: 2, Insightful

MS really needs to create/have a Windows Gamers Edition for Windows 7, or at least multiple profiles you can choose from at install (one being gamer). A profile that strips the OS down to bare bones game function. No backup, no syncs, no offline files, no unnecessary process outside of sound, video, internet, and the ability to install a game. It's the only reason why a lot of people are still committed to using Windows. If it wasn't for the gaming, I would be using Ubuntu for Internet and Media.

Maybe then the Gamers edition would be just the best preforming edition of Windows.... so make it the default edition, and if I need anything else, I'll add the service ala carte from my install disk/internet.

Why charge for the box? If you have a membership, or an online account, you could just pay the standard monthly fees and have access to as many movies all the time. An on demand movie box subscription service. All I can say is that the first company to give me streaming HD movies from my pc (like hulu hd gallery, so I don't have to use WMP) will be the first to get my monthly payments...

  8. Video Games on Hostile ta Vista, Baby · · Score: 1

I'm surprised that Direct X 10 wasn't mentioned at all. The only reason I use Vista is so that I can play games that use Direct X 10. I've basically feel the same way as the author though about everything else. So it sucks to feel separated from the OS, and that I just have to get by with using it as it is for now.

  9. Nobody should be OK with this... on US Wants Courts to OK Warrantless Email Snooping · · Score: 1

Why do people insist that it is OK for our government to have unlimited power? Our founding fathers came to this country to escape a powerful government... that ultimately fell. Our government is getting way to big and is becoming, if it isn't already, an Empire... that will fall. The more you let the government stick their foot into your home, they more they try to come in and take over.
